No Punishment?!?!?!

why should his employer punish him for soemthinghe did while not at work?

if i hit my GF my job doesnt punish me

(i dont hit my GF BTW)

I am sooo torn on this subject. Under the assumption he is guilty: I see the side of how he should only be legally punished. I also have this personal feeling that, though it is sad to say, these players are role models for many unfortunate children. That being said, I feel EVERY NFL player should be contractually obligated to be upstanding citizens. I do not know if the team currently has rules in place that demand this of the players, or if RM has it in his contract. If they do or he does, then he should be punished by the team - definite suspension, otherwise he should not be punished by the team. For the amount of money and public attention they receive, they should somehow be contractually obligated by the team to be the best role models they can be.

shouldnt everyone be upstanding citizens regardless of whther or not we are athletes

I'm sorry but I'm about to explode on this issue.

Randy McMichael won't get punished? He was arrested on accounts of aggrevated assault, battery and trespassing. He can face up to 15 years in jail on account of battery against a pregnant woman.

How is that not punishment? And how are these actions, in any way taken into accountability through a team angle? How is this Miami Dolphins related (apart from the due fact that he IS a Miami Dolphin).

Why should the team have to suffer for a private incident that has taken place out of team bounds, out of team restrictions? Why, furthermore, must people draw false conclusions, brash argumentative statements and calls for immediate activisim when all truth and sanity has yet to prevail with a clear story or statement on these events?

Can one be so arrogant to blame all rhetoric on the organization? Can one only conujure up selfless irrelevance to why the team should take action over legislative procedure?

Jesus.

Agreed, but our daily jobs do not enforce it. The fact that these players are role models for thousands (millions?) of kids makes it so I want to see it enforced by their employers. If I beat my wife, only a handful of people will see it. That does not make it right, but it does not affect the vast number of people as a RM, or any other NFL player. That is the difference for me when deciding if the employer should get involved.
