Worse than not finding our future qb was not filling any of the holes we have in Free agency other than depth. Now we have to get at least a WR or two and a qb, another OL , TE and some defensive pickups in the draft. If we do not hit on a majority of our draft picks the team is going to be screwed out of the playoffs yet again.

wide receiver turned quarterback.....miami will no doubt select with the 8th pick...who was projected by many a few months ago being no better than a 2nd rounder a best.

The difference is that training camp doesn't start for another five months and you are already in doom and gloom mode. Coach Philbin has said he wants to build the team through the draft so atleast give him that chance before ringing in the Apocalypse.

Coach Philbin doesnt run this team. Jeff Ireland does, especially during the offseason. This is his 5th draft. Are you not entertained?

I was unaware FA and the draft were over for this year.

Say today you walked up to someone smiling and put your hand out to shake it and then they punched you in the face.

The next day (season) you see them walking up.. Are you going to walk up and see if they will shake hands properly or will you assume they are going to punch you in the face and look for a new friend?

Well they think they have a good plan...Just like Matt Millen thought he had a good plan for the Lions...

It's funny to see the Lions good...while we are terrible.

I am not ALREADY in doom and gloom mode. I been in doom and gloom mode for 2 years. Also I was right for 2 years. And they have done nothing to increase my confidence and only done more to validate my opinion of them.

Should I say they are terrible all year and then in the offseason give them the benefit of the doubt? I'm not trying to be the Cubs or the Browns sorry.
Philbin has been on the job for two months...not two years. Maybe Philbin was not completely sold on Flynn like many in the media thought he should be. Maybe Philbin knew of Flynn's limitations and didn't want to pull the trigger on him for $10 million per year. Let's see what Philbin plan is before we condemn this season before it even starts.

No one is going to walk up to me and try and punch me.

What you are describing is insanity. If you feel that way about whats taken place, then I understand your POV. However, I couldn't disagree more with that sentiment. We have a QB here, Moore, there's no reason for us to over spend on QB's that our HC and FO may think are close in talent.

I'm not talking about Manning of course.

Coach Philbin and Jeff Ireland did say decisions on personnel will be a collaborative effort. While Ireland may run the team, many of the personnel decisions being made is made with Philbin's input.

This is Ireland 2nd or 3rd draft, depending on whom to believe, that Ireland has final say in the draft.

You must not understand how the structure of an NFL team works. See first you have the owner, then you have a general manager and then you get a coach. This owner wanted so much to not have a coach with power than he chose Ireland over Fischer. Philbin isn't going to be able to do a damn thing if Ireland keeps putting crap on the field like he's done for 5 years.

Don't you guys get it? WE ARE THE OLD BROWNS. Bill Belichick couldn't get a .500 record with the browns. See my point?

I feel like they punched me in my face when they fired sparano and didn't finish the job and gut Ireland.

Sprano had to go. He had his 4 years, and he didn't improve, it got worse. You can't back something like that. He should of got them to play that way from the start of the season.

What does this have to do with anything I've said in this post?

As I said in another post, Philbin and Ireland both said that personnel decisions will be a collaborative effort. Which means unlike with Sparano, Ireland will listen to Philbin on what kind of players he wants to field a competitive team.

Of course it's up to Ireland after that but your doom and gloom attitude is not going to rub off on me. :d-day:

You misunderstand. I wanted to fire Sparano after 3 years (obviously i was correct). But its a travesty that Ireland was not fired also. I'd say we lucked into one of the leagues worst owners too but that isn't likely to change anytime in the near decade.

I thought the old Browns were the Otto Grahams' and Jim Browns' led teams.
