No rationale from anyone can explain the playcalling on the last possession

First down playcall was pretty good. Thrown a little behind Bess, but the DB also made a good play on the ball.

Second down was aggressive but Gates had not chance of catching the ball in bounds. I agree completely but there weren't any underneath routes for Henne to checkdown to once Gates was forced out of bounds. They should have had a route underneath to provide a safety net.

Third down good playcall. Bess ran a curl at the 39 and was wide open. Columbo got beat badly and it looked like the DE got a piece of Hennes arm but in any case the throw was off. This would have gotten us into long field goal range or at least manageable 4th down.

Fourth down Henne just tried to force the ball into Marshall. Columbo again was beaten very badly and the DE walked into our backfield. It looked like bess had one on one coverage on the outside but there was no time and I think Marshall was the target on this play all along.

I thought Columbo missed the last series with an elbow injury, sure it wasn't finheaven hero Nate Garner who was beatn badly.

I thought it was Columbo, but I could have been mistaken. I though it was 71, that is Columbo right?

Either way our RT got abused on that last series.

The proper play call would have been a TE Post down the hash off Play action on First Down. One would think that Coach Fist Pump would have the correct play call drawn up for a chance at a field goal!!!!!

Where is Kevin Burnett I don't believe I have seen him in on any plays....... He can actually start playing anytime he would like....

Side note Darren Sproles was the guy we should went after for free rather than the Draft picks for Reggie because he clearly is not Mr. September..........

what killed us was wasting a timeout earlier in the game for no damn reason which limited our options at end. DSparano king of not having a clue what to do with timeouts

That TE post may have required touch. Even though Henne may make that when he is going well, Henne's own self doubt about making it would prevent him from even trying that pass in that situation. When faced with a do or die situation, Henne reverts to what he is most comfortable doing, which also happens to be forcing the ball and throwing picks.

That one deep throw was actually a good idea considering the Browns were all in defending those 7 yards. However relying on a rookie to get separation from Haden was foolish and of course Henne's throw wasn't close.

that route was COMPLETELY doomed. gates simply doesnt know how to run the route. did u see how close he was running his pattern to the sideline? absolutely no way henne can complete that pass. its a good idea in theory, but gates simply isnt ready to contribute
