The Dolphins project selling about 50,000 season tickets -- their least since 1994 -- and president Bryan Wiedmeier said their 10-year streak of no regular-season TV blackouts is in jeopardy. Miami sold 61,121 season tickets in 2006 and 54,646 last year. Capacity for blackout purposes tops 68,000. Free tickets given to youth and charitable groups -- a preseason practice -- allowed the blackout to be lifted Saturday.

I guess I'll be going to whichever games get blacked out.

I doubt there will be a blackout. If they found a way to show pre-season, they will be able to do regular season.

Don't take this as me coming across as a dick, but it's a serious question.

If you are a Dolphin fan, and you see how overrun the stadium is EVERY Sunday with opposing teams fans or just plain empty, why don't you as a "finatic" get season tickets or go to most games to support your team?

They gave away around 10k tickets for last nights game. It won't happen for reg season games.

honestly I don't understand. If you live within 50miles of the stadium it should be a nobrainer to get season tickets.

Season tickets are expensive. I go to as many games as I can afford. I was at last night game. Im going to the KC game and I have tickets for the home opener. Ill probably make it to the SD game as well. Like I said as many as I can afford. The parking is 25 bucks and the food is super expensive. Like I said it is real expensive for some.

Lol that's just scare tactics to get people to buy season tickets. I'm sure enough single game tickets will be sold to stop any black out threat. Especially if the team proves to be at least half-way watchable this year.
Anyway I don't blame some people not renewing their tix after last seasons debacle.

But for you local boys and girls you'd better get to the games just in case.

Perfect example why games aren't sold out.... The Redskin fan criticizing Dolfan's for not having the games sold out. What makes it worse most of the fans of other teams even have their kids grow up liking their team even though they don't live anywhere close to the team. I watch a Angels/Yankee game Saturday and it seemed more Yankee fan's at Angel's stadium than Angel fans. Which makes it worse ... The Angels are the best team in the majors now and Yankee's are across the country.... Amazing...

how do we not get it if we pay for that sh#$!!!!!?

I'm pretty sure that only applys to the locals.

A regular-season, Sunday afternoon home team game will be blacked out in a home team's territory if the game fails to sell out at least 72 hours before the game. If it is blacked out on your local broadcast station, it will also be blacked out in your area on NFL SUNDAY TICKET.

Each stadium's local blackout area is defined by the broadcast signal of the local affiliate carrying the game, not by the mileage surrounding the stadium.

The NFL requests broadcasters to black out games for a number of reasons:

To make sure your local team benefits from a stadium full of enthusiastic fans.
To protect home game attendance of the teams.
To assure the entertainment value of a full stadium — for people in the stands and for people watching TV.
To protect local television coverage.
