I am very happy that no player on this team participates in these ridiculous end zone celebrations. Non of our guys (McMike, Chambers, R&R) feel it necessary to make an a$$ out of themselves after a good play or a TD. It's not part of football, no coach has ever had a TD celebration drill at the end of practice, and no college player is scouted based on the stupidest TD celebrations. It's great that the players on this team have more class than that. I hope that the NFL does something about this soon. From giving life support to a dead football, to changing the footballs diaper, they're all uncalled for. I don't think the entire team needs to be penalized for a handful of idiots, there should be fines handed out by the NFL for each infraction. Even if it's not fines, the NFL needs to do something about this soon.

I like Ricky's comment:

You're supposed to act like you've done it before.

The NFL does fine players for excessive celebration quite frequently. Also, just to play Devil's Adovocate, earlier in the season McMike received a critical taunting penalty for scoring a TD and waving the ball at a defender. Whether or not you agree with the call or think he was taunting, the fact remains that a penalty like that is almost worse than what Chad Johnson or Joe Horn might do. CJ and JH are glorifying themselves, whereas McMike was taking a shot at the other team.

I for one, actually enjoy it. There are far more worse things to do on a football field than celebrating an endzone dance. I totally understand where you are coming from, but I see no harm in doing a little "river dance" or "rowing the boat" after a touchdown. These guys work hard and get to celebrate what? 8-10 times a season? Let them dance! It's all in good fun. There are times where celebrations can go overboard. But, really, what harm is it for someone to sign a football and throw it into the crowd? It is not like it is a dirty hit or anything. It's all entertainment and just a sign of the times in the NFL.

OJ McDuffie would just hand the ball back to the ref after each TD

I like the end zone celebrations, and I like just handing the ball over to a kid in the stands or the ref.

I see nothing wrong with it at all. IF anything, I think the fans love to see what the player may come up with next. Some fans are getting in on the act by raising cards with ratings on them to rate the performance.

I think the OP has to loosen up a bit. Of all the things in life that should be censored, you choose this?? :shakeno: :rolleyes2

I believe they got fined 1500 for a ball going into the stands, no exceptions. If Jason Witten from Dallas gets fined for giving the ball to the kid in the wheel chair thats horrible.

If I remember correctly, I think OJ used to spin the ball on the nose after every score...

Something I have not seen done by anyone else...

Those are just excuses. It's their job to catch footballs and score TDs. Not only is it there job, but they get payed millions of dollars to do this job. They are supposed to be professionals. The football field is their office, no professional goes to work and river-dances in the boardroom after landing a big account. It is uncalled for and should be stopped.

He was classy but I think he usually spun the ball on the ground after a TD or big catch.

exactly im a reciever look at me I have an ego bigger than my head

I like celebrations

but

I also like class acts

There isnt alot of dancing, but there is some showboating. Marty Booker did that "shhh" thing when he killed the crowd late in the game, and neither he nor McMichael are really known for handing the Ref the ball and walking off field. They dont choreograph or anything, but still.

We just have guys like Chambers, Welker, Ronnie and Ricky who arent particularly celebration type players.
