No Todd Bowles!!!!!!!

Heard rumour that it is either Bowles or Groh for new DC.

When you look at our ageing D, a SS (g. wilson) at FS who would struggle covering Bill Parcells let alone WR, loss of starting CB leaving 2 rookies, Loss of NT and no recognised pass rush or ILB, when you look at the possible replacements, Paul Pasqualoni was harshly dealt.

Then.......please dont tell me that we go ahead and replace this guy with our SECONDARY coach.

This was where we gave up big play after big play. Its like the Bears sacking Ron Turner and replacing him with O'Line coach. Its like the Bills or Raiders replacing their OC with QB coach. Surely our Secondary coach has to be judged on how he coached ..................................the SECONDARY.

If Pasqualoni was culpable, which ok, I can see the argument for, surely at same time Bowles has got to go aswell.

Please dont tell me we are replacing our DC with our 'Secondary' coach!

Are you telling me Secondary played well. I agree that we had lack of Pass rush without C Wake in line up, but, our secondary was awful. The amount of big plays we gave up was unbelievable.

My argument is, if PP was sacked for how defense played, surely Bowles has to go aswell. Dont tell me he gets the DC position off the back of this.
 
Bowles was dealt a bad hand this past season. Look at the job he did his first season. I think that is a much fairer assessment. He will get a job as a DC but I don't think he will get this promotion.
 
Bowles was not responsible for our defense allowing 16 rushing td's this season. And as far as our pass defense goes, all that I know is that it is Bowels job to work on technique and improve the individual play of our db's. I don't know how much influence he had in which coverage schemes or blitz packages we ran. Or who was responsible for our players not being on the same page as far as what their assignments were. So I can't comment on how much of the blame falls on his shoulders. But I do know that our defense was horrrawful. That's horrible and awful.

If we picking seasons PP would still be DC, as most agree he was superb last year with personnel on D.

Your argument is hollow ....no stars!

He didnt pick who started.
He didnt call plays.
He didnt choose the scheme.
He coached the Talent.
The cb's looked good to me.
The middle of the D is the problem ILB and FS,SS.
I dont think any of us could really be upset or too happy about the hire if he got it.
He has no track record we dont know his system

yea,I mean...really,did anyone even know Andre Goodman,or Renyaldo Hill were even on this team,much less existed before Bowles got here?
 
Bowels got a couple of Head Coaching/Defensive Coordinator interviews last offseason didn't he?
 
I dunno, when you've got proven DCs available like Crennel (is it really over yet until the fat black guy sings?? ... that's although I do think there's a reluctance to compete in his mentor's division) and allegedly Zimmer, promoting an unproven guy whose squad had 1 good and 1 bad year just seems like a cross-your-fingers-and-hope-for-the-best type of stretch. Randy Shannon was a helluva DC for The Canes and may turn out to be a decent to good HC, but we don't have that kind of time for a rocky road of on job training. So while a 66yo Groh doesn't thrill me, this possibility thrills me less (though a year from now, I'd love to admit i was wrong if this is the case).

All the arguments are stating that he was superb with HIll and Goodman last year...blah blah blah and he had two rookie corners ......blah blah blah and G wilson.

Didnt PP have same. Superb last year ......2 rookie corners, terrible FS play this year, he also lost NT, 1 or 3 ILB most of yr and best passrusher JP nicked up most of year.

If we are going to sack PP for how the D performed this year, surely we judge Bowles on how the secondary performed.......this year!!!!!!!!!

You telling me he gets promoted on that!!!!!

Where is the argument besides last year, for the reason he should be DC this year!!!!!

That could be misleading although I'm not making light of his important contribution to our historic turnaround season. At that point, he had the credibility to be seriously interviewed in compliance with the Rooney Rule. Would he have gotten those interviews without the RR? Hard to say.
 
anyone who posted previously defending Bowles....................................................... now have the balls to state you want him as DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
