Hello Everyone!

Because the staff at FinHeaven is always looking for better ways to organize, and streamline the site, we've decided to re-structure a portion of it.
You'll notice that what was once the College| Draft Forum has now been split.
We've renamed the original forum to simply "College Football" and created a new forum called "Draft Forum". We are now in the process of moving threads around so that they are in the appropriate forums.
We've also created a new sub-forum within the General NFL forum, called "Free Agents".
We ask that you keep these forums in mind when posting, as we'd like to continue keeping the main Dolphins forum uncluttered, and pertaining to the current Dolphins team.

When posting, please keep these guidelines in mind:

Miami Dolphins - Please keeps threads related to current Dolphins players/staff etc here

College Football - Please keep threads related to current college teams/players/games here

Draft Forum - Please keep mock drafts/draft wish lists/potential draft picks, etc in here.

Free Agents - Please keep discussions about potential free agents here.

We realize that this may mean an adjustment for everyone, but we feel that in the long run it will make things easier for all of us. Not only will it make it "cleaner" and uncluttered in the main forum, but it will also make it easier to find the FA discussions, mock drafts etc...

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Staff either by PM or by posting in the Questions and Comments forum.

Thanks in advance for your anticipated cooperation, and we look forward to an active offseason of improving our Dolphins through free agency and the draft, and an exciting 2006 football season!

Your logic is slightly flawed. Lets say, even if all 15 teams in front needed a QB, you simply cant presume all would feel it necessary to take one in the 1st round over other areas of need and deplete the QB pool completely. Other better rated players from various positions would be rated higher then the last standing QB and thats who those teams in front of us will take.

I know what you mean, and in the end its quite possible that no logical 1st Round QB is available for us at 16 and all the others we would have liked would be taken before we pick at 16, but history has proven more times than not that its just as likely based on many, many mock drafts that things will shake out and indeed a QB worthy of the 16th pick will be there. Time will tell.

Wasn't saying that any of these teams would reach for a qb over another need, but most mock drafts don't have the Lions taking a QB in round one but of any team we know that QB is their most pressing need and would draft young, leinart, or culter before our pick. As is true for some of the others listed in my post. We also know that WE will not reach and draft a qb that isn't a 1st round talent in round one. Other teams see as we do that there is not much to pick from as vet qb's go. Passing on the top 4 qb's in this draft won't happen this year I believe anyway

TEAM QB need
1) Houston Texans (2-14) maybe - see if David Carr's contract gets extended
2) New Orleans Saints (3-13) yes
3) Tennessee Titans (4-12) maybe - Billy Volek is capable even if McNair leaves.
4) New York Jets (4-12) maybe - see Chad Pennington's contract and health
5) Green Bay Packers (4-12) no
6) Oakland Raiders (4-12) yes
7) San Francisco 49ers (4-12) no
8) Buffalo Bills (5-11) maybe - Young QB on the books who may develop
9) Detroit Lions (5-11) maybe - Young QB on the books who may develop
10) Arizona Cardinals (5-11) yes
11) St. Louis Rams (6-10) maybe
12) Cleveland Browns (6-10) no
13) Baltimore Ravens (6-10) yes
14) Philadelphia Eagles (6-10) no
15) Atlanta Falcons (8-8) no
16) Miami Dolphins (9-7) YES

Not quite as dire as your predicitions, but it seems unlikely that Mat Leinart, Vince Young or Jay Cutler would fall to 16.

TEAM QB need
1) Houston Texans (2-14) They have said they are sticking with Carr
2) New Orleans Saints (3-13) yes!!!!!
3) Tennessee Titans (4-12) They say their bringing back McNair and have Volek they still could take on though
4) New York Jets (4-12) can't afford to spend more money on the QB position when they already have way too much invested in Pennington

5) Green Bay Packers (4-12) no
6) Oakland Raiders (4-12) Have Andrew Walter but could still take one
7) San Francisco 49ers (4-12) no
8) Buffalo Bills (5-11) no chance. Losman had some rocky games but he was essentially a rookie and it was expected
9) Detroit Lions (5-11) yes, but have alot of other needs
10) Arizona Cardinals (5-11) yes, but also have alot of other needs and could stick with McCown
11) St. Louis Rams (6-10) not a chance. They have a good QB and have alot of needs why would they waste a 1st on a QB.

12) Cleveland Browns (6-10) no
13) Baltimore Ravens (6-10) wont take a rookie. Billick has already said they will bring in a vet to compete with Boller, but are encouraged by his progress

14) Philadelphia Eagles (6-10) no
15) Atlanta Falcons (8-8) no

16) Miami Dolphins (9-7) YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The three threats for Cutler are Oakland, Arizona, and Detroit. They all have alot of other holes to fill and might not be willing to use a pick that high on a QB. Remember this is a very good draft class with some very talented players from top to bottom. If you have alot of holes to fill like these teams do would you let Mario Williams, or D'brickshaw Ferguson, Haloti Ngata, or some of the other studs at the top of the draft go if you don't really NEED a QB? We still may have to trade up for Cutler, but don't assume that just because a team could use a QB means they need one.

4) New York Jets (4-12) yes!!!! Don't see them using their 1st on a QB with their holes

5) Green Bay Packers (4-12) no

7) San Francisco 49ers (4-12) no

11) St. Louis Rams (6-10) maybe yes Doubtful

12) Cleveland Browns (6-10) no

12) Cleveland Browns (6-10) no
13) Baltimore Ravens (6-10) yes!

14) Philadelphia Eagles (6-10) no
15) Atlanta Falcons (8-8) no

16) Miami Dolphins (9-7) YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Green passes, Cutler is a DOLPHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There it is!

Why does everyone think Jay Cutler will be picked before Miami picks. Everyone is blowing this guy way up. what has he done since the season has ended? nothing at all. He still is the same spot as he was. Everyone is just making this guy bigger than what he really is. People think that for the Dolphins to get Jay Cutler will be a bit of a reach, but Jay Cutler in the top 10?????? please......he was on a sorry *** team and for a Quarterback, that doesnt look good.

He had a great year but not team needs a Quarterback that bad to take him in the top 10. He is a solid mid rounder. Cardinals need a RB before a QB. Cardinals will take DeAngolo Williams or Lendale White. I would take those guys over Jay Cutler if i needed a RB. Williams is just too good and Jay Cutler didnt lead the nation with yards or TD or anything like that, but DeAngolo Williams did.

That doesn't mean anything. We could easily pick Cutler in the 1st round and IMO, we will indeed have a shot at him when we draft.
