Nobel Priize for Wes Welker

Did anyone catch Wes Walker's brilliant play intentionally catching a 4th Quarter kick-off with one foot stretched out bounds to force a penalty against the Panthers and resulting on the Dolphins getting the ball on their own 40 yard line?

Has anyone ever seen a kick returner "intentionally" place one foot out of bounds to get the ball on the 40. Probably not. What would see is a bone-head kick returner catch the ball in bounds only to step out of bounds after receiving catching the ball placing his team in horrible field position.

That was a pretty heady play. I didn't even know that technicality in the rules!

also notice all the dolphins players celebrated with him immediately. good to see we have players who know even the smallest rules

I believe he did that once last year as well.....I just can't remember who it was against. Heads up play by Welker. The guy is an all-around athlete. Tough, smart and able to do anything that is asked of him. Looking at he and Zach, it makes you wonder why Texas Tech program isn't doing any better than they are. Some great overachievers coming out of there.

I know chad morton did it for the redskins last year...that was the first time i'd heard of it.

I don't think he did it on purpose.
He did do it on purpose. If you were watching, you would have seen him look down to check his position and then intentionally place his right foot out of bounds before picking the ball up. It was clearly a calculated and intentional move on Welker's part.

Yes he did do it on purpose because he had to stretch out his right leg in order to get his foot out of bounds.
