Until now. I was here all offseason and the expectations were realistic and the teams shortcomings were apparent. Now all of a sudden, we win a couple of games vs good teams and everyone is surprised that the team is struggling. It's now the new coaches fault that his new system is not working.

This is on the players guys. The 0line still needs to be overhauled and a good young QB is a must. I never thought I'd see the day when our offense was big play or bust.

Also Ricky can't seem to do crap out there. We need to give Ronnie all of the carries until Williams proves he can gain more than -1 yards on 6 carries.

My point is you can't measure a coaches success in games. m aybe Saban looks like Wanny becuase he is playing with Wanny's crappy players. I feel we have been overrating the talent on this team since 2000. We have some good players but not enough. It's too bad that fiedler got hurt this season. It would have been very interesting to see what he could do with a different team. Afterall he has been the scapegoat for the last 5 years.

Ricky is just fine. What did you expect him to get on 6 carries? Not to mention that the defense was already in the backfield whenever he got the ball.

I couldn't have said it any better.

i dont expect this team to be great, but i expect it to make easy plays that will score points...read gus' terrible end zone attampts to booker and chamers.

He did get some positive yardage, but the times he got tackled in the backfield negated that.
Which I think goes to show that regardless if he had played last year, we would have still had about the same record.

I partially disagree, especially about the D. That is Saban's forte, and he has brought in most of the players that are starting on defense. Traylor, Holliday, Carter, Crowder, Daniels, Jones & Lance. So far this defense has been especially unimpressive, and they've had ample time to get comfortable.

The run D has been putrid the past few weeks, and the secondary, led by supposedly solid veteran safeties has been far below average.

Yes, there are still Wanny players left over, but this team went through a 49% overhaul with tons of new "Saban" type players, and is still below expectations on this board.

It will take time for him to get adjusted to the NFL (I knew it would), but there were so many people on here that expected Saban to just step in and do well.

He's learning as he goes, but so far, he's been outcoached like any rookie HC does.

i agree, but i think its mentioning that the offense has been screwing the defense by not sustaining drives to give the defense rest

I was thinking about that last night. Our O isnt helping our D at all, there is only so much you can ask them to do. All those third and long conversions have to stop though.

Nice try but wasn't Nick quoted as saying that he wanted to win now?

What's he supposed to say, that losing is OK because we are rebuilding for the future? That'll fill the seats on Sundays for sure.

Exactly. If he ever said "we are in a rebuilding year" it would go against everthing he is trying to teach this team about playing to win every game and not making excuses. No way is he ever going to give either the coaches or the players a we are rebuilding excuse. And honestly, is there a fan here who wants him too? Would it make this season better if he just came out and said that?
