Nobody Seems Jacked Up !

The Buffalo game was a very important event for this organization. It reminded everyone of the fact that we are miles away from being a dominant team that can realistically compete for a Super Bowl. Yes, making the playoffs will be nice. But we will be there because the remainder of the AFC had a bad year, not because we are anything close to being great.

I'm still pumped at the possibility of the playoffs, but I feel the same way. Just like in 2008, it was a hell of a feeling to win the division, but when you think the Jets Favre experiment blew up in their face, allowing Pennington to land in our laps, and Brady went out with a season ending injury in week 1, plus we had a new coaching staff running a new one trick offense that just hadn't been scouted yet, you come to the unfortunate realization that it was basically a very lucky perfect storm that allowed us to sneak in the playoffs, not because we were actually a dominate team.

This year is much the same, the AFC is having a really bad time. No one should be able to make the playoffs at 9-7, if we make it, it's largely due to luck.

I try to keep it calm during the week but believe me on game day I'm a fudging mad man. I will die watching a fins game some day. If you could see me I'm in my living room screaming and jumping around like I'm in the stadium.

I used to be like that. I even used to destroy stuff that I had to fix or replace. I will admit I broke a remote during the Steeler game and we won.

We're not playing in the frozen tundra of Buffalo. We're at home with the Playoffs on the line. We're going to take the Jets apart just like we did last time we played. Our crowd will be heavily into it! We're going to come screaming out of the gate and beat the snot out of Geno and Rex!!!! Pumped enough???

Question: Is the stadium sold out?

I believe we control our own fate. If we win, we're in. Doesn't matter what anyone else does.

No. We must win, Baltimore must lose or Chargers must win.

I was jacked before the buffalo game cause I thought this team was for real. I think a lot of people did but when they lost and failed to score a single point and basicly got manhandled like a bunch of boys playing men well that definitely took my bei

ng jacked up and made me sick. I was actually noticing all week that I have felt different then I usually do about miami. I am drained with this team every week its the same thing you can't even watch the game without being a nervous wreck all the way to the last ****en second ticks of the clock. They can't ever just pull ahead and take over its always a struggle and I think a lot of people are tired of it I know I am. Its almost like I don't care as much cause I know what kind of team they are. ( NOT VERY GOOD) they have no killer instinct and it gets old. I an not trying to be negative but I wouldn't be surprised if they lose's my opinion But on a positive note I hope they win!!!

My exact sentiments. I too after being a fan for over 40 years have had some tough times. This is why I said the elimination of the Dolphins has become my relief. I want them to win, but winning just prolongs the agony. Its inevitable that we as fans get kicked in the gut one way or the other.

I can't take the games anymore I feel like im going to die of a heart attack every week. I almost can't wait till the off season so I dont have to put up with it any longer. I just hope we come on strong this week and put it to them stinkin Jest!!!!

I even tried Xanax with little success. The only thing that soothes me is winning and the off season when there are no games to lose.

I can relate...I finally thought this team was different, this year would be different and we would take care of business and smash buffalo....Now I realize it is the same team, same story, same old BS. Inept organization from top to bottow, so I just hope for a win and a playoff berth, anything after that would be gravy

They tricked me too. I want them to win and make it into the playoffs, but if they dont I wont be disappointed because I expected it. I expect them to screw it up more than I expect them not to. I am apathetic to this team. We controlled our own destiny and gave that up. This Dolphins team is weak minded and soft.

So are you saying that if we bring back this exact same O-line and they become mentally tougher they will be better next year?

Hard to get pumped for abject mediocrity... frankly I would prefer to lose this week if it guarantees Ireland gets canned.

Every time I get jacked up for them they play like they did versus Tampa or Buffalo. But as long as they beat the Jets I will be happy. It doesn't guarantee we will make the playoffs, but hopefully this will take care of itself. I don't even want to think about a loss.

Not at all. Bring back McKinnie and Pouncey.
My point is you can say they're not mentally tough or whatever but the simple fact is they got abused at the LOS by the Bills who have a far more superior OL and DL. Sometimes the matchups just don't favor the team and the Dolphins couldn't overcome a much more dominating DL than our OL. It's not like the Bills haven't been dominating other teams in the league, they do lead the league in sacks and they do rank 8th in total defense. I mean if we had been dominated like that against Jacksonville or Dallas (who's defense is awful) then I would be ticked but I pretty much expected it to be a tough game and figured it might turn out like it did. This OL sucks, worst in franchise history. We can't pass block and we can't run block and still we're in the playoff hunt.

I think some of you truly expected all the money spent by Ireland would materialize into a 14-2 season or something and you failed to give thought just how these new pieces would fit into our team. Ellerbe was an undrafted free agent linebacker that the Ravens signed and taught the 3-4 too...you expect him to be this all world MLB in the 4-3 cause he got paid a lot of money...sorry. Wheeler has been bad everywhere he's been but because Ireland paid him a bunch of cash he's supposed to be pro bowl level now? Don't think so. Wallace was in a vertical passing offense where he ran mostly go routes now we're asking him to be a complete WR and actually run routes...that takes time and he may never get it. Ireland gambled on these guys...free agency is just as big a gamble as the draft...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's not as simple as placing player A on team B and the results should be identical...it never happens that way.

Personally I think some fans lack mental toughness. If the team isn't winning screw them all. If we can't blow someone out fire everyone. We're down 7 points after the 1st quarter and everyone is posting they're done watching the game they'd rather watch paint dry. Waah freakin waah. Suck it up and root for the team win or lose or get the freak out of here and don't come back. Tired of all this baby crap. It's one thing to be critical of play calling or execution or even the talent level but to cry before the game is played out, say the team lacks mental toughness as if they don't want to win or expect instant success just because you're tired of waiting for the team to be good...well that's ridiculous. Everyone in the NFL wants to be good, including Buffalo and their fans. It's not like everyone should roll over for us just because we had Dan Marino and now we don't. You got to earn this crap every week.

Yes, he spent about a gazillion dollars on free agents and the net result was either a one or two game improvement in the overall record. Not a single 2013 draft pick has made a major contribution to the team with the exception of the kicker, and he is hit or miss. Sounds like success to me (sarcasm). Can his rear end, find an up and coming personnel man who can actually draft in the second and third rounds and who can make free agent investments that make sense, and move this franchise forward. I've had enough of this mind numbing mediocrity.

Im excited for the game.....if we lose this freaking game we don't deserve anything. I just know for sure the Ravens will end up beating the Bengals because the Bengals have nothing to play for.

The Bengals can get the 2 seed still. They need NE to beat Buffalo and that game is being played after Cincy's game. It's unlikely Buffalo wins but there's always a chance.

I wasn't just referring to one game. The fact that they folded in a number of games this year is what makes them weak and soft, not because they only folded against the bills.

For the record I thought a 10-6 record was fair due to the ease of our schedule. The fact that this team is wildly consistently inconsistent also can be attributed to mentally weak.

Me too, thats why I can't understand why we went into the season $22 million in cap space. And why we spent less on offense than every team in the league except the Raiders, and surprise surprise we're 28th in offense. Or why didn't we didn't bring in another competent tackle or two, especially after our starting left tackle went AWOL during training camp.

It seems to me our GM was saving his money to make another splash in free agency next season instead of doing everything he could to win this season, that pisses me off because I had more faith our team was ready to compete this season than our GM did. We should be playing for a first round bye on Sunday instead of hoping to back into a wildcard and thats on the GM.
