This is the time of year when all the prediction columns from the national media come out, and the Dolphins have fared rather terribly. Like, super-bad. All twenty of the NFL.com personalities polled picked the Patriots to win the AFC East this season, even with Brady on the shelf for twenty-five percent of the regular season. When asked to elaborate none of them even mentioned the Dolphins as a possible threatLong story short, the Dolphins aren't getting any respect this year for a multitude of reasons, many of which relate back to past teams disappointment, not this team's abilities.

Is that fair? Not really, but any Dolphins fan can understand the sentiment. Why would experts go out on that limb considering how inconsistent these teams have been? There are certainly more reasons to pick the Dolphins finishing last than there are to decide they can win the division.
The Dolphins have been everything from a Super Bowl favorite, playoff dark horse, and AFC East favorite over the course of the past two decades. Each time they've disappointed, most times in epic meltdown fashion. It's totally understandable why no one is giving them a chance to win anything in 2016. It's also probably better off that way, because they've crashed and burned when given high praise in the past.

That's OK! They already have an excuse anyways. If Miami wins the East, its because of Tom Brady's suspension. so there you have it. Damn if you do, damn if you don't. I kinda like it, that means no pressure.

We don;t have a chance in hell.

Well I think we sure can, and this is my confidence level! Screw everyone else and what they think!!

I don't think the fins will, but every year there is a team no one thinks can make a run or get to the playoffs and they do each year. Washington last year is a great example where most thought they would win, maybe 5 games and end up taking the east.

In the NFL....you have to let things play out...

Who can blame them? We don't have a very good defense at this point and the offense can't run the football. On top of it the this team has laid an egg so many times that untill they start to get different results it's hard to trust them. Can they make some progress this year? Sure. Specially on offense but our LBs are one of the worst in the NFL, our DBs other than Jones have a lot to prove. The online can't run block and our deep receiver can't stay healthy.

Ozzy rules!!

Is this a surprise? I hate to say it but I see us as a bottom 5 team this year. First time in my life as a fan I've gone into a season feeling this way.

Bottom 5? Seems a little too harsh to me, even when we suck bad we finish somewhere to the middle of the pack (picking between 10-15)

Can't say I blame any of the "experts" for not picking the Fins to win the East (let alone make the playoffs). We were pretty hyped up going into the NFL season last year and that season turned into a complete disaster so it makes sense that folks in the media are shying away from the Fins this season.

Gase definitely has a lot of work to do but I will be supporting him & the Fins every step of the way of course

I think Miami should worry about trying to end the season with more wins than losses before they worry about winning the division.

NE isn't losing the division until Brady is either out for the year or retired. Just the way it is.
