From being at yesterdays practice this is one of the guys that really stood out for me, he seemed to be all over the field on defense playing cb. This kid might turn into something special, seems very dedicated to his job. He defended a few passes closing in with fast speed on the receiver. I have high hopes for carroll and reshad jones.

Thats really great to hear. Which receivers were he guarding? Marshall, Bess?

all they have to do is play them and continue to develope them

expecially reshard as we need a ball hawk in the deep secondary in the worst way.

but, this is sparano, yet another miami coach who just doesnt seem to want to develope young talent. if you dont come out and make 3 pics in every practice then your going home or off to a team who relishes talent and knows what to do with them.

sparano seems to be a shrinking violet in the face of some of the more "spirited" players like rashad jones and matt roth who the browns started imediately and were rewarded with 6 sacks in half a season of play!

so i dont know. carroll and jones are two of my fav young players but its in sparanos hands as to if they will get a fair chance to develope.

NOTE: would be nice to see roth come back huh?

Carrol played Corner back last year, I haven't watched the practices, so if he switched to safety thatd be interesting, but I know last year he was a corner.

We had one of the youngess team in the NLF last season... What are you talking about? If anything, we didnt have ENOUGH veteran starters...

I agree, i was under the impression that we had a very young team last year, and that Sparano gave the rookies and younger players plenty of time to develop on the field. I believe that was one of his priorities in fact.

Doesn't want to or can't? Two entirely different things and I'm leaning towards to later...

Not that accurate. Since this regime has come in, we've been getting younger, getting rid of some of the older players. It actually started with Saban initially, but we've done a very good job of revamping our team with youth, especially on defense, where Yeremiah Bell, Will Allen and now Jason Taylor are really the only guys over 30.

Would be absolutely IDEAL if Nolan could man the slot but he seems a better fit on the boundary. You would almost feel comfortable in the nickel having Vontae cover the slot, and have Sean and Nolan on the outside. Of course we have Will Allen and Sapp, but I'm rooting for Carroll to come on real strong this camp. He had a solid camp last year as well but showed he wasn't ready in the preseason. Came on towards the end of the year and you saw the improvement.

I just have never seen such closing in speed like carroll has, yesterday i saw it live and was pretty impressed with his ability at cb.

Another post that is completely incomprehensible due to the fact of pure hate for this regime. This makes no sense what so ever. I can't believe some of these posts. This team has let young guy after young guy win jobs. If they are good enough to play they will play. Carrol got some PT last year. He was just a little late to the party due to the fact that he lost a lot of of PT in college because of injuries. I expect him to beat out Sapp for nickle and get some quality snaps in some of Nolan's hybrid type D's. He is looking like another good late pick for these guys.

Why do you guys even bother to rebut. It's obvious some people just hate the ground Sparano and company walk on, and will reach for anything to call them out, even if that's all they're doing; "Reaching"

That makes me ecstatic. I'm really hoping he can be a great nickel for us in the future
