Noodle arm nickname misplaced

Yeah for sure. His arm is misrated due to his recovery from his hip injury when he first came in the league. His velocity has noticeably improved years 2 and 3 in the league when his hip healed more fully. And his arm was never an issue in college.
its more it was just a narrative media created.. and people latched onto it and instead of admitting there wrong they keep vomiting it up.
same as.. he cannot throw on the move.. I have seen him do it a fair few times, or cannot move in the pocket.. I saw him duck tackles twice and then throw on the move in that 4th quarter comeback vs ravens sooooooo.. theres footage that disagrees with all these takes but they will just ignore/ discredit and keep spewing it out

Y'all be being fooled by the metric system.

88 kph vs mph. Don't feel bad. I hear in the UK they still weigh things by how many stones they are. It happens 😂
We still use mph in the UK, it's those Euro's that use kph.

Weight is still stones though, at least for my generation. You'll hear people say "I'm 12 stone" not "I'm 168lb". Maybe they are teaching the young ones lb or kg

yeh i have mentioned it before.. bout Herbet

saw a video few days back bout tua and why he is hated.. good video theres a lot of like showing a brady throw with comments like omg... world class throw by the greatest ever.
then shows tua doing the exact same throw to get, he was lucky tyreek took that to the house, terrible play... he does this with some deep ball throws from mahomes , its funny to see cause there legit everytime Identical throws and the other person doing it is gettin praised, then tuas one tua is gettin blasted.. obvious this guy was doing it to prove a point and defending tua.

anyways in this he talks bout strong arm bs, and says sometimes infact most times touch is better, then shows 3 throws of herbert, open man in endzone like 10-20 yard passes each time, and rocketing it into row z from point blank range... this strong arm bs is dumb.. sure at times it helps like hail marys, outside of that accuracy is always better and I don't get whats hard to understand there.. I really don't

People want velocity, accuracy, touch, mobility, AND anticipation. So do i, but, real world, how many QBs in NFL hx had all of those.

Disclaimer: I am not a Tua hater. I think the man can win a SB with a quality OL in front of him and the right mix of skill position talent.

That being said, I don't think the doubts about Tua's arm are in those situations where he has the time and space to use his normal throwing motion. I believe the criticism comes when he has to throw off his back foot or he can't get his lower half into the throw. I would like to see the velocity and accuracy on those types of throws and how he compares to most other QBs in the league.

I don't disagree much, but EVERY QB needs that. Mahomes, JA, Brady, Montana would have been as successful with the '24 Fins and Mcd.
Yes, that is true to varying degrees, but no QB has gotten to the SB the a bad D, bad OL, and no weapons. Never will

Except you missed the part where no one took it as fact and the OP said he made a mistake.

Also, depending on what’s in his arsenal, plenty MLB teams would draft a pitcher with an 88 mph fastball. The average is around 92, so there are most likely quite a few throwing that now. Why are you spreading misinformation with that and with how to spell misinformation? 😂
Yep I’m sure every team would love to have a Greg Maddox on the team.

In a vacuum, Tua is one of the best pure passers in the NFL. However, he does not have the same arm strength as guys like Allen and Mahomes in regards to throwing off platform. They can snap their wrist and get zip on a ball which allows them to throw on the run, throw while falling backwards, etc.

Tua cannot do that. In fact, every noodle arm throw you have ever seen him make can be traced back to footwork. If he can plant his feet and turn his hips his throws are elite. The second he gets happy feet or tries to throw off platform it is a floating duck.

Tua can make every NFL throw within the right system. He will never be an elite play extender though. McDaniel needs to put him, and the rest of the team, in the best position to succeed this year.
I agree with this. Had Tua retained his sneaky good college athleticism, extending plays might be a strength.

It goes without saying that this is a huge year for Tua. Above anything else, he has to stay healthy. Miami is 38-24 when he starts. That's playoff caliber.

Do you think it’s just the hip that keeps him from being that extender like he was in college ?

I remember reading that Tua threw the football at 88 miles per hour, which matched Tom Brady among others. I think Josh Allen was at 102, or something insane like that.

The point is, Tua’s arm is strong enough. It's more about accuracy, and ball placement, than arm strength most of the time.

When it was tested Tua had a higher velocity than Joe Burrow
Burrow seemed to benefit a lot from throwing to two generational talents at wide receiver at LSU and then getting one of them again in the NFL
No one seems to give that much weight when assessing Burrow though
