Not a big espn QBR guy but...

It does look nice. I refuse to acknowledge it as a statistic thats worth anything though. ESPN wants so badly for it to be relevant its just laughable.

QBR is awful because ESPN literally doesn't even tell you what the full components are.

They include a so called "clutch factor" and other elements that they have never fully disclosed to the public. In fact, when they unveiled QBR they invted people who wanted more information to attend some sports science conference that ESPN was hosting and to get their questions answered there. So I guess that unless you have a time machine, you'll never know how they really calculate the stat.

Here's overall traditional QB rating he's over 90 for the year
View attachment 13464

He's at 90.9 QB rating. That's the team rating which adds the 2/4 for 21 yard performance by Moore yesterday as well as the 0/1 throw by Wallace.

He's 17th in the league in QB rating. 17th in yards passing, 12th in passing TDs.

Thanks I didn't think about that...

although I see some distain for the espn rankings (as i do see title lol) but, if you compare both that and traditional that both have similar top ten guys and both have a few suspect guys up higher then they should be IMO. Regardless they BOTH show a trend of improvement and puts RT in the conversation w the top half of qbs right now after a real ruff start

You guys are funny. QBR is just as relevant as the old school QB Rating statistic. Neither should be the end-all be-all statistic to quantify a quarterbacks performance, but it's a good supplement. And whats nice about QBR is it compares QB's performances against each other, which is a change of pace from the traditional version. Before, getting a 90 QBR was a barometer for a "good to very good" QB. These days 90 hardly means anything any more. QBR is just another form of doing the QB rating statistic, nothing more, nothing less.

According to traditional system he is 17th best, according to QBR he is 16th best.

You guys are pretty off base. Lots of things to **** on ESPN for, their QBR rating system is not one of them.

Tannehill has made a steady climb this year. The issue I have with QBR from ESPN is that it's too subjective.
