As you can see, this game went just about as I suspected it would go. I think I had a prediction last week somewhere in a thread that was even closer to the the exact score, if not right on it. Nevertheless, it seems we are in for quite a solid season whether the clueless still fail to see it or not.
Before I hand out the grades and discuss each unit of the team, Id like to go over a few things in general.......
First of all, I had to leave the chat earlier over the continued nonsense about play calling. We all expected there to be tense moments in the game, and its frustrating to watch us dominate an entire half and be trailing. That seems to happen way too often with this team. At this point I should be used to such ridiculousness from fans, but there is something different about this team that makes listening to bickering about play calling even less tolerable.
Nevermind.... I give up. This thing keeps erasing what I post. I hate typing on a laptop.
Let me sum this up quickly then I will come back in the thread later and post grades for each group one post at a time.
Chicken littles...... eat it. Stay down in the pofo and bitch about Ireland, the government, and anyone else making decisions.
Play calling whiners.... youre clueless.
Wanna be film breaker downers and scouts...... give us another thread about how bad Martin is. He gave up 1 sack...... ewwww. Big deal. He was solid today.
Like I have been saying for months, this offense is OK. Thats all it needs to be with how dominant this D is. All we need is a couple of quick TDs a game with chunk plays and maybe one solid TD drive. Thats 21 points. Hell, most games we can do with 2 TDs if we mix in a few FGs.
People who pretend to be phins fans while bashing every player we have...... go somewhere. Preferably Gang Green where you belong.
Old man who said our D wont be elite...... find a shuffle board court and a Canes forum OK.
And Im changing this from a Get Real thread. I cant roll this out as a get real. People wont leave me alone, I keep getting texts, this thing keeps erasing full paragraphs, Im trying to watch BB and Dexter tonight, and I have too much work to do the next few days. Get real threads take time and effort.
The season preview stands on its own. Everything I said last month still holds true. Shouldnt be a surprise. I will still roll out some grades later though.
