Louis Delmas had a very solid game yesterday, and was maybe the best tackler on the field. Several open field tackles, took on Gronk one on one and made a play, sure tackling to keep anyone from breaking something for YAC, wrapping people up. IMHO a great game and an improvement from what our guys usually do, which is put their shoulders down and try to cream people. Anyone reading my posts should know I'm no Jimmy Wilson fan, maybe some of Delmas tackling style will rub off on that dude.

I still think we draft a safety, but I'm pleased with what many (myself included) thought was a questionable acquisition. So far at least.

Agreed. It feels so great to know that we have a playere that knows how to takcle. That first tackle he made when he met Ridley and wrapped up his legs was great.

I agree, Delmas did a lot to curb Gronk's receptions to bare minimum YAC. Because of him and Jenkins, I don't think Gronk had opportunity to get his legs loose on the field, he looked too stiff out there being limited to immediate tackles at the spot.

Missed tackles have been a plague on this team for ages. Good to see Hickey find some guys that fortify the "bend but don't break" mentality.

Was thinking the same thing after the game yesterday. So far through one game hes a pretty big upgrade over Clemons, he was flyin all over the field and was bringing a strong physical presence to the D.

Great observation! Delmas played a very solid game and appears to be a "sure" tackler, which is something we need.

Reminds me a bit of Yeremiah Bell.....
