Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly and TCU coach Gary Patterson each voted his team's interest: Kelly gave the Bearcats their only first-place vote and had Alabama No. 2; Patterson voted the Horned Frogs No. 2, Alabama No. 1.
• Five other coaches voted Alabama No. 1 and TCU No. 2. All five, like Patterson, are from schools outside the six conferences with automatic Bowl Championship Series bids: Navy's Ken Niumatalolo, Ball State's Stan Parrish, UNLV's outgoing Mike Sanford, Houston's Kevin Sumlin and Louisiana-Monroe's outgoing Charlie Weatherbie.

I was hoping for a somebody versus ANYBODY but Texas title game.
I live in Austin, and it's enough to make a person physically ill how self involved and spoiled UT fans are. They can't get over the fact they had the WORST 1A schedule in the nation and narrowly beat a bad Texas A&M team and by the grace of the Lord squeaked by a Nebrasks team with zero offense.

If this year doesn't prove the BSC is rigged so only top 'name brand' teams get into the big dance, nothing ever will.

Alabama needs to crush the Horns, the BCS needs to be ash canned, Mack Brown needs to go shut his stupid, gaping pie hole and the Hurricanes need to dominate once more.

Is that too much to ask?

It's not rigged, it's just all about "name brand $$$". It's no secret. As long as the BcS is around it will always be about money and ticket sales. Always has been, always will be. Don't get me wrong, I think it sucks *** and personally can't wait till they figure out some sort of playoff system. Seriously, it can't be that hard. Every other sport, whether college or professional, has a playoff in place. Even Div 2 NCAA football! It's a crock, a spoof, and it's wrong in so many ways. I just get tired of hearing it's all figured out by some so-called "computer". That's just BS handed out with white gloves on a silver platter and frilly toothpicks.

Trust me, I hate the BCS as much as anyone, but Texas was the best team out of the 3, and had the best resume (i.e. strength of schedule).

help me on this ..I would love to have a playoff system.
Teams from the SEC or ACC are built for a playoff,they play tuff teams
week after week...It would be right up the tough conferences alley.
So,how does a Boise,or TCU plan to get in a playoff ,playing the schedules
they play? Rankings? Then we are back to basically where we are now.
RPI,strength of schedule,or something would have to be brought in to make sure the right teams get in the playoff.If they took the top 4 ranked
teams at the end of the year and let them play a playoff,would the 5th ranked team (say from a power conference that played a much stronger
schedule)get screwed over for ,say ,Boise,who would be ranked 4th
but played a much easier schedule?
I just don't see where a playoff would help teams like that out,maybe in
a one game scenario,but definitly not if they had to play two or more tough games back to back.
What do you think?

I think a playoff would have to be much larger than any of us really want. Probably 16 teams, with EACH conference getting an AQ bid. Then 5 at-large. That's probably the fairest way to go.
I'd prefer a smaller playoff system. Maybe 8 teams. It would have to get pretty complicated, but that would allow for the 6 BCS conferences plus two more. How those extra two come about would be the complicated part, but this year, it would be easy - TCU and Boise.
#1 Alabama vs. #8 Boise
#2 Texas vs. #7 TCU
#3 Cincinnati vs. #6 Ga Tech
#4 Oregon vs. #5 Ohio State

This year, I don't think a playoff is necessary. I think we all know who the best team is. Unfortunately, most years are not like this.
