OK after Cleveland have splurged on OL extending Bitonio signing Zeitler isn't John Greco a steady performer? Isn't he still on the Browns roster if so would a late pick secure him I know he's 31 but options are getting shorter.

It's 3 days into the league year, options are getting shorter? Unreal

There is still the draft, trades, and not all of the good free agents have signed.

Some of you folks need to chill and relax!

Would you care to name any good options for our dire Guard situation? :idk:
I don't see a lot of College Ball so can only go off what I read about the draft class.

They are...

But if the browns would be willing to take a 5th/6th/7th something in that range, I'd be for it

Isn't that the exact purpose of this thread?

Yep the exact purpose indeed trying to gauge who would be available, or should we just trade a high pick for someone we could have picked up in FA?

We will undoubtedly use a 1st or 2nd round pick on a Guard. We have to. As much as we need more young defensive players we've filled some holes at glaring needs while regaining our stud SS to go along with a stud DT and DE.

We are much closer to having a complete and stellar offense so that's the side of the ball we need to cement with a high draft pick. Guard usually a great value in the late 1st or the entire 2nd round round. We need to go that route and solidify things on offense. More important this year and than any other to protect our franchise QB.

The OP has the right idea because indeed most of the top echelon OGs have already signed with teams. TJ Lang looks like the only one left amd thats because of concerns with foot and hip surgery. Like others have said if we can get someone like that from the Browns for a 5th or 6th i say go for it!

Armando has said that he has heard from team members that theyre not going to invest a 1st, or 2nd rnd on a OG. If thats really the case then we better hurry up and sign a decent starting guard, or like the OP suggested, inbest a low round draft pick and get one via trade.

The same people clamoring for the top free agent guards would soon be crucifying Tannenbaum if we paid someone like Zeitler 51 million dollars

You are correct, i wouldnt have like that at all....but there were other OGs that were signed for around 5, or 6 mills a year that would have really helped our team.

The team didn't chase those guys for a reason that we won't ever know.

Lots of guys get cut after the draft. Long way to go.
