This is a process this is not a play-off calibre team... Teams played down to our level last year..., we sucked... everywhere... We will suck this year... We will be in position to add top tier talent via free-agency next year.... then awe will explode into the play-offs ...

i personally think our FO has done good in FA,they haven't overspent on anyone, and they're laying the foundation for what i believe will be a very good team within a few years, plus they've brought in some young experienced veterans to help out with whomever they're gonna draft...aka...we're finally rebuilding and i believe it's being done right by a man known for rebuilding formerly crappy teams into good to great teams, and SB contenders.

The FA signings we made weren't supposed to mimic the Jets - for reasons all too obvious to Jets fans (enjoy that salary cap, suckas). Hey, we got younger, we increased the level of talent while not breaking the bank, and we've still got a draft to go through. Works for me.

I'd rather have a bunch of good socks that when all paired together equal one big shotgun then one Red Ryder air rifle all alone.

I like it! No big splashes, just seemingly solid, smart decisions on players with upside potential. There is a lot of upgrading needed and it looks like solid moves to set up the draft, where the most potential lies.

I respect Joe's opinion in this piece, but I disagree with his stance and with characterization of some of the players we picked (especially Wilford).

What do you all think?
I think, in this instance he was much more interested in creating a tie-in to "A Christmas Story" than putting together a reasonable analysis. Usually however the guy is a pretty decent writer with valid points to share.

Well said...I agree.

I really like the linebacker from the Giants(Tobor),he's got all kinds of upside.

You know what. That's pretty good point and funny!

The fastest way to get better is to add depth, build a defense and build a solid special teams. This it what it seems we are doing. You have to build a foundation before building the first floor.

It´s creating a base for rebuilding...Can´t do that whilst compromising the cap, and overspending on 1 or 2 "big names", goes against the whole purpose of the process...Surround or current players with a supporting cast of hard-working, football loving, disciplined players, and then, maybe, plug in a "star" or two, but when you already have established a core...

Good analysis of our free agency except Lemon and McNown are not equal. McNown is better.
