Well I know a bunch of people at Ohio State and that area since I went to University of Pittsburgh the past 2 years before transferring to American University.

And basically everyone at Ohio State hates Hartline's guts.

Here are some of the complaints I got:

"He is terrible at football. And to make matters worse he's a whiny little bitch."

"He's too slow and he dropped a bunch of passes last year. Rumor has it that he was a problem in the locker room all season too. Most OSU fans celebrated when he declared for the draft"

"You will not be happy with Hartline. My sister when to high school with him, I knew him growing up, he was a douche bag and still is. He is a cancer in the locker room too. He hated Pryor last year because Pryor didn't throw him the ball and they even got in a couple fights. He sucks"

I hope they are wrong, but about 99.9% of people I talk to think Hartline is trash and a locker room cancer.

Only time will tell.:( Here is the scouting report of him coming out of college:
Overview Starting receiver for the Buckeyes the past two seasons and has declared his intentions to enter the NFL draft. Very tough competitor who makes up for ideal size or speed with great intangibles and smarts.

Ran 4.52 at the Combine and impressed everyone with his overall body of work..6.65 3-cone; 10.92 long shuttle; and 4.12 short shuttle were all among the leaders for the wideout groups. At the Columbus Pro Day he ran 4.54 and 4.49, and stood on his Combine numbers for the rest..
Strengths

Does a lot of the little things right, and has said to have been a coaches favorite during his time as a Buckeye. Solid route runner who is always in the correct position. Good hands. One of the better blockers for all wide receivers in this draft, as he was known to frequently lay out opposing defenders on run plays. Very tough guy who will probably be willing to do some dirty work in the NFL.
Weaknesses
Disappeared this past season with OSU under a QB transition. Only 10 career touchdowns, basically was never much of a threat in the red zone. Does not have very many playmaker qualities. Will never be an elite deep threat.
Projection
Probably better suited as a slot receiver. Does not have the production to really warrant a high grade but did start on two very good Ohio State teams. Would've been better off staying for his senior season, but should be taken sometime late in the middle of the draft--4th to 6th round.

Another interesting thing is that CBSsportsline said he had blazing speed, but he was only clocked at 4.54/40. Another curious thing was that if he was such a pariah in the lockerroom, apparently the coaches did not think so.

And still there is people putting him ahead of london and armstrong in the depth chart.

Hard to make me feel worse about the pick, really. I guess I just hope that a change of scenery will do the trick. I will say that something about his personality in interviews does raise my hackles a bit. He strikes me as a guy who knows exactly when the microphone is on, and what to say when it is on.

Something tells me that he doesn't really like Ted Ginn, that he does like Chad Henne, and that if there ever started to be a controversy between Henne and Pat White, he would be in the middle of it trying to form sides.

I live in Ohio and have heard none of the cancer in the locker-room crap. He was upset that Pryor was playing because he was concerned that Pryor was a running QB 1ST and a passer 2ND. He also had built a nice rapport with QB Todd Boeckman who was more of a pocket passer. I would imagine that Hartline and Boeckman were pretty tight and Hartline was just showing his loyalty for the man.

I don't see any of this carrying over to the NFL level so don't get your panties in a bunch.:err:

HMMM. My friend is a diehard buckeys fan and he worships the ground that hartline walks on. His highlights and play on the field are awsome. I will take the front offices opinon of his character issues not some teens or 20 somethings rumor mill.

Let him become a whiney little *****, and we will see how quickly Joey Porter or Jake Long smacks him in the mouth, *smack* shut up B*tch*. Problem solved.

On a side note, CK have you seen him the practice highlights from earlier in the summer? I really was not impressed at all. He took a false step everytime of the line, really didnt sink his hips on his cuts, and didnt even throw his head on curls/hitches. On top of that he made catching the ball look awkward. He didnt look it in and didnt make it seem so elegant and finesse. He needs to learn from Bess on how to make catching a football look like the Matrix or Slow-Motion.

No offense, but so what? So a few people at Ohio State didn't like him(and from most of your quotes they were from people not on the football team). Most football players are high on themselves and arrogant.

Sounds like some people who didn't like Hartline the classmate are jealous he is now a professional football player. Every NFL team has players that talk big and what is on their mind. Miami is not immune from this. Porter talks big, Crowder talks big and even Jason Taylor can be a pain in the butt.

I honestly do not care about the opinion that some college students had on Brian Hartline the guy around the campus. Neither do I care about what a person who went to High School with him over four years ago thinks.

This is the NFL, not a ballet dance school.

Wait a minute. Didn't Henne work out Hartline and say he had soft hands & looked great? I could either believe that or some anonymous college brats.

he can be the biggest sh** talk ever, only if we win games. other that shut your face and work on your mistakes. If you got a problem with a player you address it in a business like matter.. If he does not follow that bill P will kick him out in a hart beat! Unless he is putting crazy a** numbers which i think is unlikely.
