Hey everyone, I've been a FH member for 10 years and I've recently fallen on some extremely hard times... It's all on the gofundme link but basically because of alcoholism, depression (and perhaps the Dolphins ineptitude) I seriously attempted suicide about a month ago, and now because sober houses and halfway houses won't house a suicide case, I find myself homeless on the streets of Brooklyn.

I have a very, very good resume` in sales and I can find work quickly, but I desperately need to find some housing and to get myself back on my feet in a cheaper area of the country. I am a young man that used to be very successful and I have a lot of pride so asking for ANY help is very difficult for me, but I don't know what else to do as I never thought things could get this bad.

I'd really appreciate ANY and I mean ANY help from anyone that can spare anything. I will make it my life's mission to never forget those who have helped me out during this time.

Man what a hard thing to go through...Praying for you and I hope you find/get the help you need to get your life on track. Every day is precious here on Earth my friend...EVERY day. Don't let anything (or anyone) steal that gift from you through drugs or alcohol. Worse? Taking it from yourself...there is always a way out and a way up. Find a rescue shelter down South (many are faith based)...get involved helping others and you very well may find you will actually be saving yourself.

We would be more then happy to auction off some tickets with the proceeds going directly to the gofundme page.
4 ticket package. The tickets will either be in section 102 row 3 or section 102 row 4. We are more then willing to email the tickets to a moderator of this forum to hold in "escrow". Once they verify that the winner has donated to the gofundme page they would be able to email them.

1. 2 pre-season Phins vs Titans tickets September 1st
2. 2 regular season Phins vs Titan tickets October 9th at 1pm.

Best of luck to you man.

There are lots of places in ny that will help you for alcoholism and drug addiction. They'll get you housing and counseling and will help you find job prospects.

I'd get out of brooklyn and move upstate if I was you. Bk is too expensive and it's hard not to do drugs and drink there because It is fun as hell. NYC isn't for everyone.

The services for alcoholism and drug abuse upstate are probably much better than in NYC anyway, and is far cheaper to get your life back on track. If you have a good resume you'll find a jib quick upstate, in NYC, everyone has a great resume.

You sound like you already know this, but I'll say it anyway. It can get better quicker than you'd ever expect. Get that job, your first paycheck, screw any creditors for a month or two, and you'll be doing alright.

Also phinsphan you're a great person too. I'll do what I can as well.
 
Not all of us see religion as a panacea to your problems. My advice for what its worth is to consider the following:
(1) Get yourself 100% clean - no alcohol, no drugs, etc.
(2) Then get yourself healthy from physical exercise and eating correctly (no junk food, increase the % of fruit and vegetables in your diet). Walking, running, swimming, etc - whatever you can do. You will respect yourself more if/when you get yourself healthy and fit.
(3) Don't be a victim. Find a cause and get into the practice of helping others. You will feel better about yourself when you put some effort into helping others. Volunteer some time.
When you are clean, healthy and selfless, you will be better prepared to take further steps forward, like work, building relationships, friendships etc. The reality is that you have been given a second chance at life. Put the mistakes behind you and don't feel sorry for yourself - it's in the past. While some religious groups with good hearts and kind souls will try to shove a solution on you that involves a lot of prayer. It isn't for everyone. If you want it, that is cool. However, if you're not into it, be true unto yourself.
(4) The Miami Dolphins are going to improve (hopefully this year) and you don't want to miss the team back on top. That's a great reason for living.
Good luck my friend. Don't be shy in giving us progress updates. The powerful play of life moves on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?
