who do you guys think our qb will be next year, and the only reason im asking is because im really liking what im seeing from pennington, really accurate, doesnt make mistakes, and takes what the defense gives him, and great leadership, just wondering if he will be around next year, or if henne will get his shot.

eventually i want henne to suceed.. but i hope that penny is our qb next year and maybe even after that because that will mean he is doing well and we are winning

I think Henne will be the starter next year. Pennington deserves more credit than he has gotten, but I think Overall Henne will make us better. I hope we keep Chad as backup to groom beck as the backup.

I think pennington is the man until henne shows he is better side by side in camp.

Or, what I can forsee happening is Pennington going down with some injury, and Henne coming in and never looking back.

Yeah, good point, wasnt thinking about injuryies, i guess cuz im optomistic, damn man you bring me down!!! lol just messin wit you

Pennington will most likely be the starter, and I'm happy with that. Most Qb's take 3 years to groom. With that being said, it all depends on Penny. If he keeps playing good, he could be the starter for the next 2 years. If he starts playing bad, Henne could possibly start next year, I doubt it though.

I like what I've seen with Chad Pennington so far, but down the road Chad Henne gives the team a chance to be more explosive as an offense. Until the coaching staff deems Chad Henne ready to take over, I have no issues with Penny remaining at the helm.

IMO...It depends on how well we do this year. If we have a good year, and possibly make the playoffs...I don't think you just turn around and sit the QB that took you there. I believe the original plan was to have Henne start if Pennington got hurt this year, and move him to the starter next year, with Pennington as his backup just in case Henne flopped. But, now that we are doing better...I could see Pennington heading this team next year also...

Chad Henne does add a certain depth to our teams pasing game. My problem is for him to be truly succesful he is going to a need a good WR. Something we dont have.

Pennington can make due with guys that are mediocre and utlize backs and tight ends. So until we get a big time receiving playmaker, i say keep Penn.

I think it really depends on how the rest of the year goes. If we end up 7-9 and really look like we could fight for the playoffs next year, you gotta give the nod to pennington.

But Henne could earn the job either way.

Penny will be the starter until he leaves (only a two year contract) or he gets injured. Penny is the better QB right now and even though Henne has more physical ability he just doesnt hve the skill or experience of Penny. If Penny takes us to the playoffs this year look for a contract extension and him being the starter for a few years.

Here, IMO, is the perfect situation. I think CP still has some good years ahead of him. "If" the team continues to improve, defensively, I can't imagine a better QB with the running game we have behind him (ricky/ronnie) than CP. Ideally you see CP get 2-3 years in the program to prove he can take them into, and deep into the playoffs. If not, after 2-3 years, you hand the keys to Henne. Injury, of course, forces your hand earlier, and that is fine with me. But ideally, CP gets his shot. Give the guy a top notch receiver next year and who knows what he could do if the defense continues to improve. CP does 1 thing that very few QB's in this league do, and that is he doesn't lose games with testosterone-induced throws. Most guys you say that about simply can't throw the ball, but he can. I think he's a poor-man's Joe Montana, given the right supporting cast. Please note, I did say poor-man's Montana...
