it was a joke about the name but i think you get the point. we have been hoping for a franchise QB to fall in to our laps through free agency but the truth of the matter is that teams are not stupid and they tend to hold on to those guys. the last guy that we had that fit the franchise mold was marino and we drafted him. it really isnt taht hard to see is it? if we want one we need to go get it in the draft and if he turns out to be a bust. at least we tried something besides waiting around for marino junior to fall in to our laps.

The dolphins didn't go after Marino, actually they got ridiculously lucky thathe fell to them. I don't believe in 'going after' players in there draft. (I.E.-Trading up for them) I believe in taking the best player at your pick. If its a QB, great. If its not, deal with it.

Yes to that!!!!

At this point i wouldnt mind trading some stuff (not too much tho) to move up and get him cause i think he can really get to be a great qb for the future

If am correct, he was not the 1st QB picked in that draft was he?

It goes both ways. The Eagles went after Shawn Andrews, he's now an all-pro, well worth the cost of trading up. The Broncos went after Elway- some complicated circumstances going on there, but nonetheless it changed that franchise. Hindsite is 20/20 and sometimes trading up fails (Ryan Leaf) or is at least in doubt (Eli Manning). Last year, would you have been for the Dolphins trading up for Leinart or (especially) Cutler, for what, an extra third? I sure would have.

I myself am all for giving CPep this year to get it together. Maybe pick up another QB in the draft or FA, But I think the next BIG QB in the nfl is going to have to wait one more year. Colt Brennan is the guy we want. Take the best players available this year and then next year sell the farm, cause this guy is the real deal.

cpep will be fine next year

i agree but we cant continue to spend money on cast away QB's. we all see what that has gotten us thus far. like it or not i see us getting a QB to go with huizinga's win now plan.

So if Adrian Peterson fell to the 9th spot we pick?

I have never beleived in "picking the best player available"
history shows that that theory sucks

talk to the Lions about it.

You draft a player in a postion that you need to upgrade....duh
