watching the game last night, both Quinn and Russell looked marginal in my opinion. The only QB i would consider taking would be Troy Smith, but thats not until after the 1st round...

so please, sstop this crusade

I don't want Russel, Quinn or Troy Smith. The guy I want may not even declare: Brian Brohm. Quinn will be pretty good if he's in the right system. Same with Russel. But I don't think Smith will be a very good pro QB. I would really like Brohm if we could somehow land him. (If he comes out)

Marginal?? Neither of those 2 looked marginal to me. As a matter of fact I dont believe Quinn, nor Russell will be available to us by the time we pick, so don't worry...we wont be able to get them!
Troy will not be there either after the first round!

Give me Kolb in the second or third round and I'm good.

What about Henne from Michigan?? I only watched a few of their games but he looked solid to me. What do you guys think??

Actually this should be one of the stronger QB drafts ever....especially if Brohm and/or Colt Brennan come out.

I don't knot that I agree as I think they will both be good QBs, but I don't think we should be taking a QB early anyway. It is though a good year to take a QB in the mid rounds because there are some guys who could be diamonds in the rough in guys like Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb, Tyler Palko, John Beck, and Jordan Palmer.

Russell or Quinn are worth taking a shot at 9th overall IMO.

"I want Smith?"

"Troy smith won't be there after the first round?"

Has anyone been doing their reading? It's no big secret that almost all pro team scouts have Troy Smith no higher than 3rd round on their draft board, specifically the Baltimore Ravens scouts, who are some of the best in the business and very rarely are way off.

Same. I think this is a great draft to pick a QB,
not only for future development of the team, but there are alot of QB's and
we can still get a great one with a 9 pick.

I follow Pitt and I like Palko a lot. I think Wanny and his quick outs have made him look bad the last few seasons. But he was highly touted coming into college and he has all the tools to be a good qb with the proper guidance. If we hired Chow as HC and drafted Palko i think we could have something.
We invested a lot in Culpepper, and I dont think we will win anything next year anyway, so the best option might be to give Cpep a year to prove himself but also draft a qb in the mid rounds as insurance or a possible diamond in the rough.

to Somebody every year its not a year for QBs thats why the dolphins dont have one. Enough of the woulda shoulda BS and lets actually draft a QB high and then we can say we failed to draft a QB. The fact is we have never drafted a QB because none of them have been " good enough for our franchise". Lets go out there and DRAFT ONE and see if its true.

It'll be better for us if scouts look unfavorably at Quinn and Co. because then it'd mean we have a better chance at getting a good QB in the draft. That's how Arizona landed their franchise QB. If Quinn pulls a Leinart and falls to our spot, I'd be ecstatic. Troy Smith's issues are character, iffy passing mechanics, and trouble finding throwing lanes. That's why he's not a 1st round consensus pick.

Baltimore has a track record for being bad at picken Qb's....Smith is gonna be a heck of a qb in the nfl lvl...He ll be a steal for us if we can land him in the 3rd.

DC is our starter and Lemon is our 2nd stringer...we will draft a QB in the 2nd day of the draft to replace Joey "stinky" Harrington as our developmental 3rd string QB.

Stop the 1st round QB nonsense will ya?:shakeno:
