I don't mean to look too deeply into this, but the Sean Smith / Jason Allen illness thing seems a bit a weird to me. I know the official story is they were sick and were held out of the preseason game vs. Carolina. At the time there was a scare that it might be swine flu, so precautions were taken to keep them separated from the team.

Then we found out yesterday in practice that they were pretty much ok, and that the illness a) wasn't swine flu and b) was pretty minor.

Now if you watch their interviews on Aquavision from yesterday, they are pretty dancy when asked about it. Jason Allen almost makes it sound like he was held out without even being sick, saying he didn't really have any symptoms.

It almost seems like they were held out for a different reason, which is between them and Sparano. I wonder if it was disciplinary action for something? Maybe twittering?

Coupled with the Matt Roth "illness/injury" thing, it makes you sort of wonder if illness/inury is being used as a cover for something else. Not that it really matters or affects much of anything - quite frankly, this regime can be as secretive as it wants as far as I care. It just made me wonder...

The coaching staff doesn't have any incentive to cover up a disciplinary issue.

Yeah, you might be making too much of things. You'll drive yourself nuts thinking of all these different conspiracy theories.

I think you may be reading a bit to far into this. Its one thing to cover up an injury, but its another thing to cover up an injury by essentially yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

You don't mention swine flu unless it is a possibility. They may have came down with some early symptoms and been quarentened from the team. They probably just ended up having bad sushi.

alright, fair enough guys. :hi5:

But did you see Smith and Allen's interviews on aquavision?

I saw that....
wow.... I know Jason Allen isn't the sharpest tool in the shed....
but if he doesn't even know when he's sick..... man, he's worse off than I thought.

They didn't have the flu, they had flu-like symptoms. That most likely means Sean was ****ting his brains out on game day from eating at Bova Prime.

May be they wanted to look at a couple of guys to see just where they stood, having ascertained the guys they held our were keepers?

Well Im glad they quarantined them at the first possible symptom. Can you imagine if they dont, thinking to themselves: '' well its probably nothing'' only to find out it was and you get an outbreak on the whole team... Disaster!
