..but big penalties on D worry me big time. again, this game was huge and Lance more than made up for a series of ridiclous penalties (some real, some perceived by the refs), so I don't want to take away from the accomplishment, but I bet everybody was like me, thinking we were going to lose another one because of stupid penalties. the fact is, we should be 3-0 right now. Penalties on crucial third and long, keeping opposing drives alive is the only thing that stands between us and a legit shot at the division, I think. They have to stop.
Okay, that's it. I'm going back to enjoy the win..

All we can do is hope they get the mental mistakes fixed soon. That said, we made a ton of them today and still beat the team that beat the Patriots one week ago. Can't wait to see a game with less stupid penalties.

Like Saban always says, we will get this thing fixed.

Yup, The bright side is when I hear him say it, I belive it. Unlike the former coach who shall remain nameless who had the same motto written on his underwear

I am mainly concerned about the guys on the O-line making stupid penalties, i.e., flase starts, illegal motions, etc. The unsportsmanlike penalties also gotta go, especially like the one on 3rd down when JT made a nice sack, only for us to be penalized....ohhhhhhh man was I pissed. :yell:

There is no fixing something like this. It goes to a team's very character. Once again the overwhelming majority of penalties were by Wannstedt/Spielman holdovers (10 of 14) despite the fact that Wannstedt/Spielman holdovers make up less than half the roster.

Saban hit the nail on the head when he said that the penalties won't get fixed overnight, right now we just concentrate on overcoming them. And, I think that is what we are doing. Sure, if we played a clean version of Sunday's game, we probably win handily rather than win on a last second FG. But that's not our team, and won't be our team any time soon. So people should talk less about "fixing" those penalties, and more about possibly containing them, and mainly overcoming them.

The bright side is the fact that Miami had 13 penalties for over 130 yards and they still won the game.

I think we should be happy so far.

A new coach
a new o-coordinator
a new o-line coach
a new defensive coordinator
a completely new defensive scheme
a completely new offensive gameplan
alot of new faces

We are 2-1 with this. We have played 3 quality playoff teams. Each week you see them getting better and I am very happy with the improvement thus far. Each week you see less and less mistakes. Each week our oline looks better. We have a new QB doing all this and I think that after this bye week and we will have 2 weeks to prep we will be even more comfortable with everything. Then by the end of the season we could be a pretty deadly team.

You're right there's lots to be happy. If we cut down on the stupid Def penalties on 3rd and longs, and figure out a way to help out Howard or replace him, I think we can be one of the best in teh NFL this year

hey Fin fan, I think you should continue the series a la salsbury (who makes my stomach turn more than any other analyst). From worst in the league to 6 wins at best. His next statement is 8-8. then the fins are a playoff team, And finally "See I told you they would win the super bowl!."
F-in as-ole, that he is

I was planning on something like that but unfourtunatly all I got him saying was the Dolphins are a damn good football team circa September 15th. I was hoping for more but everytime he has been on TV since that Sept 15th comment I just change the channel. What I love most is how nobody ever brings up what he said before. He is the defination of what is wrong in sports journalism.

Another point that is starting to get forgotten is that we get Ricky back. I along with alot of others (I assume) have forgot that we get Ricky back in a couple of weeks. When that happens we will be even more dangerous.

Yep. Ricky returns 3 weeks from today. Imagine what that will bring to this offense and to opposing defenses. Wow. Can't wait.
