Dont blame him for that play!!!! He was in good position and was just a freaky kind of play.

It was one of those freak plays "Smith was there but Akin just made a good catch".. Waits for the SEAN SMITH SUCKS THREAD

Yea Smith could have been more patient he jumped too early before the ball got there. Also u gotta go for the ball but also know that if he catches it u need to take him down so I know its 50/50 either go for the ball or for the tackle but damn he missed both.

The reciever climbed up him like a tree while the ball was in the air. Then Simms is like oh I'd say its a pass interference if the DB does it but not the WR, huh? The other play he got beat bad on but the guy couldn't bring in the catch so I guess it comes out in the wash. Overall it was a great job today on defense after spotting an excellent offense 14 points and then only giving up that cheap TD.

There wasn't anything he could do on that play. Should have been pass int. He looked bad today on several occasions though.

Sean Smith is losing his confidence.....he has to be more like Vontane when it comes to moving on from a bad play.....there was a time when Sean would go up for jump balls as if the ball was his, now it looks like he is saying ,oh no he threw it this way, he will be fine but he has to stay agressive......

Our corners can only improve after an aerial assault that they were part of today. The fact that it came against Brady and the Patsies is invaluable in their learning curve. They made some adjustments at the end of the game but for sure the long plays against our D have been killing us. To win the game is testament to the fact that the offense kept battling and the team never hung their head. Go Phins!!!!!!:hi5:

he consistently misplays the ball in the air. he's in position but when the ball is in flight he can't seem to win the battle for it.

sure there was something he could have done

Like swat the ball away instead of just sticking his hands up

I like Smith, but he certainly could've picked that ball or at the very least knocked it down. Smith is still incredibly raw. The guy can cover very well, but his awareness is non-existent.

That said, he's still a rookie, plenty of time to improve upon his weaknesses.

Aiken was all over him. When they showed it in slow motion you could see for a split second Aiken had him wrapped up with both arms while leaning into him. No way he gets a good jump on the ball with someone draped over him, No F'ing way. Offensive PI should have been called.
