Thirty is a little old to still be without a playoff appearance, as is. But given the way such peers as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning aged so gracefully in recent years, might have a decade or so left to play.

“He seems to keep getting better,” coach Adam Gase said. “I guess I look at 30 now, and for quarterbacks it doesn’t seem – how many guys do we have that are 39 or 40 and MVPs of the league?”

The best hope for the Dolphins’ future would be that becomes a late-bloomer. He has been a starter since his first training camp in 2012, and his best season came two years ago, when he was leading Miami toward a wild-card berth until sidelined by his first knee injury.

Misleading: at the time he was balling vs Jacksonville pre-cheap shot, anyone now denying that if forced to wager the proverbial farm that of the 2 choices it would be that the Phins would make the playoffs is full of crap. Only Campell prevented this article from including the phrase "Return to"

Uhh....one Coach?

well, we can be literal or we can accept
his point. Manning was 37 and MVP and a month shy of 40 when he won Super Bowl.

Probably similar examples.

Depending how he ages and takes care of himself, RT could be here 10 or more seasons.

a scary thought for some, indeed! :)

We aren’t making the playoffs this year.

Shhhhh! There's a bunch of season ticketholders planning otherwise and I hear the Dolphins are planning to play this Fall anyway.

As for you, this might be a good time to book a cheap January getaway to some remote area. Good luck!

The difference is all of these old QBs mentioned like Brees and Manning have actually accomplished something as a QB before 30. And here we wait for RT.

How many guys in the history of the league did as little as RT has done before 30 only to accomplish significant things after 30?

I will start:

Jim Plunkett

Dont forget Gannon, he was pretty old when he and Gruden clicked and fielded a prolific offense...not sure how old though. If i recall his career until then was less promising than Tannehill's.
