Now Buoniconti comes out and speaks...

As always, Buoniconti knows what's happening, is right there at the point of attack, and hits hard. Vintage Buoniconti. He has the stones that the front office lacks.

I said this before and I'll say it again. Unfortunately, Ross doesn't give a rats a$$ what the former players, coaches and/or fans think. It's his team and he's going to do exactly what his inner circle (Ireland/Peterson) tells him to do.

First off, getting rid of Marshall was not a bad move. He is a piece of crap that beats woman and may be facing a major suspensoin this season. Not to mention he was the least clutch reciever on our team last year. Secondly, it was not our new coaches decision to get rid of him. It was our GM's.............just sayin

If your dumb enough to think getting rid of a probowl Wr for 2 #3's is a good move....do you also think its a good move not to replace him?

And nice to pass judgement before let the story plays out....what if he isn't suspended at all? still a good move?

Same type of people were crying in Pitt to get rid of Ben....think changed their minds after overreacting...you can ask them now.

Frankly, he shouldn't care what the former players think because they are irrelevant to the present and are generally insufficiently informed enough to evaluate decisions being made. Go get a winner? Uh, he tried that with Parcells and how did that turn out? Can't wait to hear what Merc Morris would like to see and if maybe Manny Fernandez has some words to the wise.

Right....least clutch receiver. We will be so much better off with Hartline and Clyde Gates, who needs a pro bowl receiver. We will win way more games without him next year. Marshall wasn't the only guy on the team with character issues. Should we cut every single one of them? If Jake Long gets a DUI tonight do you want to trade him for two 3rd rounders tomorrow?

Ross did not go get Parcells.

Now that a former great Fin is speaking out I hope some of you will listen, he is no Porter.

Well, Parcells was in place when he took over, so I wouldn't put that one on him. My main concern is the hollywood glitz that Ross seems to want. Thats not what Dolphins football is about. If he had any history with the team, he might realize that. IMHO, the successful teams in the NFL savor their history (i.e. Pittsburgh, Dallas, Green Bay). The Robbie's had it as their family formed the team. Huzienga was at least a fan of the Dolphins before he took over. Ross...what the heck was he? A rich land barron who wanted to play in the big pool called the NFL.

That's the spirit...You know...The spirit that makes a future HOF player or top FA avoid the MIA like the bubonic plague. Who wants to invest a career in a place only to be thrown under the bus? Manning will be a Colt again when all this dust settles and he suits up for the last time then just like Elway is to Denver...Manning will be again to Indy.

Marino,Griese,Zonk,Killer B's? Nowhere to be found...

The Fins have taken all their storied history & players and flushed them down the john...No pride or former greats carrying the torch in the front office like other teams.

AND HERE WE HAVE IT FOLKS!!!!!

this started back in the jj regime. at the time, i didnt blame him much because we needed a new direction. the "cowboy way" had just delivered a dynasty and exciting, inovative approach to the nfl and draft and we wanted it in miami. when your instilling a new attitude and scheme and philosophy, you have to shut the door for a while because some of the old loyalties can rock the boat and become a cancer. they did it in dallas with landry and it paid off.

but the problem was, they were never allowed to be trickled back in like the old cowboys were. jj melted down and his flunky wanstedt took over and further kept all the old dolphins, the real dolphins, the championship dolphins, the respected dolphins out of the loop. out of the parking lot. out of sight, out of mind.

like we are seeing in our country today, spawned by the current leadership, when you try and gut history, when you discredit and ignore the founders, the heros, the builders, the philosophy, you are in BIG, BIG trouble. you end up with a SOULESS empty shell ripe for any ill take over.

and thats what we have now. a team with no heart, no direction, no soul. surrounded by clueless self importants with agendas not quite in line reviving and honoring our history and glory. a team with vultures circling over head.

to bad its not as easy as just voting them out in november, but what we REALLY NEED, like in our society today, IS OUR FORMER LEADERS, the heart and soul, the legends, the heros, the builders to raise up and come together like BUONICOTTI has and make a stand! expose the shysters who are clueless and those with a personal agenda OUT and get us back to stability and glory, where we BELONG!! hats off to nick. and getting guys like nat and marino and rose and griese and cox and thomas and stephenson and keuchenberg and langer and shula back into the dolphin blood stream is not only strategic, but the only TRUE hope we have of restoring this trampled franchise.

MOORE and MARINO are two different situations. i think dan had every intention of following through, but wanny showed his hand right away and when he realized he was just a glorified casino door greater, he was OUT. and i am glad he did. just like mike westhoff, he saw the writing on the wall.

BRANDON MARSHALL: the finz brass [ireland] has already said trading marshall was on the agenda since seasons end so its not about them panicking and dumping him after the latest bar incident. THEY DIDNT HAVE A BACK UP PLAN! thats the problem. not that they let him go, but they didnt plug the HUGE hole he leaves with his departure. drops or not, defenses had to cover him. he was respected on the field and he was a player who commanded attention and had to be game planned for. this wasnt a 5th round choice who after 4 years never got off the bench and easily replaced, this is a BIG TIME, PRO BOWL, BIG TIME TALENT wr and you HAVE TO HAVE A PLAN of plugging that kind of hole. so far, it looks like they have non. thats what all of us are mad at, not that he was traded, but the fact there was no replacement plan. and they HAD THE TIME to make one.

getting a guy like wallace to come in or brandon loyd [who signed with new england and would have been a good back up plan]. all we were left with is a hole in an already shaky offense. we were not strengthened, we were weakened. not much of a plan and not a good start to free agency.

at this point, we need MORE of the historic dolphins to rise and more of the protests by fans to send a clear message because if we dont, we will get YEARS of the same. and with no consequense, why would they change?

Well said my Brother...

BTW- I disagree with your opinion of Brandon Marshall, he's a great player and a decent person.

It's not opinion. It's fact. He's a winner at dropped balls and dropped touchdown passes. And a "decent person" doesn't beat up on women.

Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall was named as the the Pro Bowl MVP after his record-setting four touchdown performance.

Oh yeah? and tell me please: how many regular season wins did that exactly mean?

We may hate Parcells and his pupil Ireland but this quote of his remains, in my eyes, immortal: "You are what your record says you are"

did I meantion that Brandon Marshall has never played in a team that had a winning season? through high school to college to pro? And that while has often was the most talented player on the field.

I mean, even if you try, it's not easy to never have a winning season.

'Nuff said ...

The silver lining in all this, IF there COULD be one is; Joe Philbin!!! If he can come through with his vision and Miami is able to develop it's own talent and start a winning tradition again; the current situation will be forgotten ... Buoniconti's remarks are spoken from the heart and speak volumes to what true football people see from an inexperienced Owner and unseasoned GM ... Unfortunately for us fans, as long as Ross is the owner and has people like Peterson and Ireland advising him, things will continue spiral out of control, until the winning starts, if ever ... As far as Brandon Marshall is concerned; He is similar to Joey Porter a player I never really liked, due to the attitude and character concerns, BUT respected for the ability as a professional football player to play the game well ... I rooted for them while they played for Miami, but always had that uncomfortable feeling about both players ... It was obvious Marshall needed to go, BUT to trade him before, at least getting, ANOTHER ACCOMPLISHED WR on the roster, blows my mind!!! Marshall didn't fit the WCO and again found himself in the middle of another off field incident ... I can live with trading him away, it's the lack of a plan or foresight in doing it, that disturbs me ... The Older more Traditional Dolphins like Buoniconti and Moore would be perfect people to have fronting the team, they at least know how to talk with people on a level we fans can understand and not the garbage Ireland speaks with ... Moore understands traditions, he understands the nuances of the sport and how a front office should conduct itself ... Miami is a long way from recovery, as long as Mr Ross is the owner and he continues down the path of destruction the Dolphins seemed headed!!!

This post is amazing. Maybe we should hire Buonicotti as GM.
