Pft.

Position Available - Defensive Coordinator.

At least he could of tried something. Everyone around here praises Mike Nolan and I'm not sure why. I don't know the stats..I believe our D was "ranked" 6th last year? I don't remember them playing like a #6 defense. I'm sure points scored on us among other things are pretty high. I remember our Defense doing exactly what it's doing now which is getting smoked for huge plays downfield while Davis and Smith talk to cameras about how great they are.

Wow, we're turning on Mike Nolan already. Half of you wanted to fire Sparano last year and make Nolan HC. Some knee jerk reactions here at FH.

There's only so much scheming can do. The ultimate makeup of the roster falls on the shoulders of Ireland and Sparano. Those two picked the players and in the interest of pumping their own egos and beating their own chests they stuck with the guys they drafted even if they were outplayed by players that may have been here before the regime took over. The fault for what happened yesterday isn't one persons fault but the majority of the blame needs to fall on Ireland and Sparano IMO.

Da truth, Really?? Last year Nolan could NOT stop TE's from killing us, so that's a pretty looooong time to fix the issue. He has not..

Could say the same regarding Sparano really. Remember how lit up this board was not very long ago for Sparano for Coach of the Year? Seems like a long time, but it really isn't. I've never had the hard on most a lot of the board has for Nolan, and although Sparano hasn't done the smartest things sometimes he get's a lot of flack around here for nearly everything that happens on the field. Nobody expected our Defense to turn into a bunch of unconditioned sissies who can't tackle/cover.

If you want to fire Sparano after one game, wanting Mike Nolan as the replacement doesn't make sense. Daboll should be the one based on game one.

Time to hire Dan Marino and give him complete control......A job I'm sure he doesn't want if it came with a 10 million dollar per year salary!

I understand that it is the HC's responsibility to have the team "Game-Day Ready," but I don't feel like you can pin this on Sparano completely. Nolan hardly adjusted, and when he did, Brady knew it. Pats are an amazing offense. Yes, our D was terrible, but it was the 1st game of the season. Our D can only go up from here! ha

I'm not looking to fire anybody and I definitely don't want to hire Nolan as head coach...or Daboll, at any point.

What I'm saying is we don't match up with New England at all. A team that can get sonsistant pressure on Brady with their front 4 and use everyone else in coverage will have the best shot at stopping New England...that's not us. You need linebackers and safeties that can cover TEs...that's not us. You need a couple of solid slot corners that can stick with receivers for more than the first 3 yards...that's not us. Personnel wise we didn't address what you need to beat the Pats.

Normally if a team wins your division, and winning the division is the first thing you want to do to have a chance at the playoffs, then you address your deficiencies to match up better with that team. We added Kevin Burnett and that was it. We drafted a corner in Jimmy Wilson who didn't play...don't know why but at least Wilson would have knocked somebody out. Our DBs are soft...Sean Smith could literally play without arms and would be just as effective as he is now. He doesn't wrap up, he doesn't use his 6'3" long frame and long arms to bat down balls...he might as well cut off his arms, the less weight may allow him to run faster...who knows.

I've always felt that the strategy to beat your toughest opponent, which is the Pats, starts with your personnel and it starts in the draft. Get the players, develop a scheme (that would be Sparano and Nolan on defense), implement a game plan and then execute it on game day. Against teams like the Pats, Saints, Packers you need more than 2 CBs that can play.

Knee Jerk???
You must have been doing more than knee "JERKING" instead of watching the game last night

If our defense had a few players playing bad then I might agree
but not when EVERY single defensive player had a bad game

The Dolphin defense was not prepared and DIDN'T come to play
THIS IS ALL ON NOLAN'S SHOULDERS...ALL ON HIM

Where were the adjustments during the game??

Knee Jerk reactions don't include
a QB setting passing records on your defense
a QB putting up 4 passing tds on your defense
tight ends that put up 13 reception and189 yards receiving 2tds
623 total yards against our defense

NO MY FRIEND, THIS IS NOT A KNEE JERK REACTION

What you didn't see Y.A. Tittle put up these numbers last time????? Sheesh that was a pitiful performance by the "D" for sure!

That was funny as hell all and all IMO smith may have been the best one in the secondary last night
Davis was missing half the game with cramps i cant believe it i thought Davis had more pride than this..
Their is a difference between doing bad and historically bad..
