I live in france and I haven't much information like you in USA about my favorite dolfins teams but I'am sure that our 2 weakness since many years are OL and QB since marino retired.

Since the begining of FA period we haven't made a move to erase OL and QB problem (I want quinn but that seems not the plan of our FO because they want green if possible) and that worries me.

I think perhaps alabi or toledo could be a solid LT but nothing sure here and we haven't signed a solid FA OL......and franckly I'am tired of the statement houck can mold a young promising OL talent.....I would have liked a great OL signed....but that will not be the case this year too.

For our QB problem I hope I'am wrong but our FO doesn't seems very in love with quinn (I suspect them to stockpile draft pick , what I like) but we need to give one of our two 2eme rounder if necessary to solve our QB problem, and I'am afraid our FO sign another old veteran (ala trent green) than draft quinn , grown him behind culp 2 years and after that erase our QB for the 10 years to come.

really I'am worries we don't solve our 2 big problems and to be in the same case next year.

I hope I'am wrong but........

ps : I like the porter move but we need more than that to found play off hopes. :dolphins:

Dude, thats better english than half the people in here from America! but honestly I have faith that With Cam being such a stong Offensive mind he has a plan, I believe they will make a few more moves in free agency, but I believe we are going to attack the offense through the draft....With strong Offensive coaching and a few more key role players on O through the draft and F.A., and a C-Pep being healthy, and backed by a Championship calliber Defense with a new attitude...we could have something there this year....we have some questions...but I like the direction this is going so far...

Best advice I can give you is to look two or three years down the road. Looking at next season as a target date to have all our problems solved is not very realistic.

Get to know the young players and enjoy their journey between now and then, because play-offs and championships aren't in the now, they're in the then.

Enjoy the ride and the small victories along the way.

I enjoy victories not game match and if we look long term, not need to sign another QB stopgap like that seems to be the case in their head.

If I was GM I would draft quinn this year at all price my QB chart will be 1/ c pep, 2 quinn and 3 lemon and in 2 years bye bye culp ....

Next years I would draft the best LT at all price and we could be OK to a solid play off run, but that doesn't seem to be their plan now and I suspect them to sign cheap player in FA and many players possible in the draft , I'am ok with that , but we must need to sign the best QB possible or the best LT possible this years and if it's necessary to sacrifice a pick, do that......else next year we will tell us the same cas like I said.

You can't find players for the OL or QB in free agency. The only true way to fix these problems is through the draft. Theres no sense in over-paying for some of these guys in FA, and the lesser guys on the OL dont cost as much for a reason. That's why we got Stockar McDougal so cheap two years ago, because he sucked. I believe Toledo and Alabi will both be starting by the beginning of the season on the left side.

Au contraire (;)): It should make you rejoice. There simply isn't any quality tackle or quarterback in this FA-class. So instead of overpaying for mediocracy (like we did the last couple of years), we go for the draft. That's as wise a decision as any. Next season will be a rebuilding year (where we'll be lucky if me make 0.500) anyway, so shelling out big bucks this offseason would be a wrong move. Instead, you take a look at what kind of playmakers you can get in this year's draft and then pursue some key free agents NEXT offseason - where you'll have a lot of money to spend if you take the slow approach right now. Besides, trading for Green doesn't mean that Mueller doesn't go after Quinn. Quite the contrary: it means that Culpepper is gone and the Fins will draft a quarterback high.

My expectation is that we will address the O-line in the draft. I wouldn't be shocked to see Levi Jones in a Dolphins uniform next season, nor would I be shocked to see at least two of the four first day picks used on offensive linemen.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me at all if we came away with a QB, a tackle, a guard, and a wide receiver after the first day of the draft. That could, conceivably, address our biggest issues.

I'am all Ok with not overspending, but I don't think green signature would say bye bye culp, I think they want sign him in assurance policy in case culp isn't ready and don't need to pick a QB in draft.

And if we want begin to solve our QB and OL problem we need to sign either our future QB or our future LT this year with our 9eme pick at all price (I'am ok to give our 2eme 2eme rounder if necessary).

Just my opinion !

I see the fins going oline this year and making it their main priority. I dont think Quinn would fall to us at 9 but i do think levi brown will be there. Brown with the first pick, maybe kalil or grubbs with the first pick in the second round and either a WR or maybe even stanton the QB with the other second round pick. I wouldnt mind grabbing him with that pick and letting him sit back there the whole year learning.

FA just started and we are stocking draft picks. I think it WAY too early to be scared. If anything, you should feel refreshed by all the activity going on.

I read this earlier this morning, and didn't have time to respond.

It's been less than a week! No worries :D We're nowhere near done with the free agency period yet, and the people coming in through are going to fill other spots than OL and QB on the roster so that we can use our draft picks on those positions and avoid having to pay for the garbage that has been available in FA. 50 million dollars for Leonard Davis? 80 million for Clements? No way, we'll get better for cheaper, and quicker to boot!

I hope it's ALL offense through the draft. ALL!
Your bound to find at least a few gems in there.
I think our defense is set this year. Maybe a corner.

Best statement yet, especially if we draft Quinn, then definitely look for small victories first...

in my opinion it was he goal of our front office to target offensive lineman in free agency (at least one "big name" guard), but all of these average/slightly above average guards are making more money than steve hutchenson (best guard in football) did last year. So instead of overpaying for a guy (back to the Wanny and Spielman days) who doesnt deserve the money, FO went another direction and brought in Joey Porter (who they believe is a cant miss type player and is making money that is parrell with his play). You have to give props to Mueller, Cam, and Dom for what they have done so far.

Basically in FA up to this point guys have been getting way way too much money, so therefore less is more....We will be making more of a splash in the second and third waves of players and an even bigger splash come draft day...To me it seems like FO has some type of plan/direction in place, which I havent seen since Jimmy Johnson was our coach...And its a great feeling...

Go Dolphins!!
