Beam Me Up Outa Here!
He already buried one franchise, left them so deep in the hole that his successor got fired tryng to dig out, as an Asst GM (reporting to Terry Bradway) instrumental in hiring Mangini, and Ryan - 2 HCs who were ultimately fired, had some good draft picks including Revis, Harris, Mangold and DaBrick, but a lot of losers like Vlad Ducasse, Wilson, Gholston, Sanchez and Steven Hill (while the very same Bradway in a moment of clarity begged him to draft Russell Wilson. However he was stonewalled and Tannenbum instead extended Sanchez into cap hell, despite bottom feeding career stats, one legit decent season without Bill Polian's help and a total 3 game collapse in '11, traded a 4th and 6th for Tebow, paid him over $2.5 mil and the Broncos over $2.5mil in installments in '12 and '13. Now he's in the midst of killing ours!

The NFL is not always right, but in their usual informed collective wisdom, team by team with whatever needs elected not to hire Tannenbaum as a GM on account of the mess he made. So he resorted to sports agency work. That's until our moronic owner decided not only to hire him but to make him the head of football operations. That's what you call :failing up". In real life corporate world how many other company's essentially promote an out of the industry **** up in a lesser position?

For years disgruntled jets fans labeled him a recycled bean counter with no real feel of football. I tend to think they're spot on. Bradway was awful too before him but was right about Wilson..while Tannenbaum was wrong about Wilson and Sanchez! And guess who was hired as one of our scouts since he was fired by the Jets? Bradway! Who's next? Sanchez and Mangini?

To paraphrase George Santayana's seminal quote: "He who ignores history is destined to repeat it." I don't think this guy believes he was kicked to the curb because he deserved it and it looks like he's bound to repeat all the type of boneheaded decisions he's made in the past.

Do we really want this cancer making the hard decisions that will be directing our franchise going forward? He is not one of the "Good Hands People!"

LOL. He is going to picking the next coach...heck, he helped with this one. Campbell has Parcells connections as does Tannenbaum.

Any truth to the rumor Ross saw Vaark's new sig and decided to make the move :chuckle:

Don't trust Tannedude but I'm afraid he's not going anywhere.

If Ross insists on keeping Tannenbaum, we are going to be in the same boat we were when he insisted on keeping Ireland - unable to hire a top quality HC

unlike Ireland Tannenbaum has been a successful GM. he just entered this mess, he didn't create it. our biggest mistake was firing him after 2012, I hope you guys make the same mistake.

that is a complete myth, the cap was easily managed. they had a ton of players coming off the books, all firing him did was push the chance to win back 2 years. everything Idzik did was easy w/ regards to the cap. he built teams that competed for multiple conf titles.

I say give Tannenbaum the benefit of doubt for now. Getting Ross to fire that worthless Philbin and Coyle...he earned his salary for that alone.
Just relax and let this season unfold anew and see what happens.

T'Bum's Jets record:

06: 10-6 cruising on Bradway's players?
07; 4-12 including 2 wins against the 1 win dolphins
08: 9-7
09: 7-7 +2 laydowns: with the last two games against teams that pulled their starters
10: 11-5 good season he could not maintain going forward thru QBs and draft picks
11: 8-8 losing the last 3 games
12: 6-10 suffering through substandard QBing and poor offensive drafting

55-55 +2 seasonal record, no divisional championships, 2 legit winning seasons in 7 without Bill Polian/Jim Caldwell self-serving "charities" - the epitome of "mediocrity" with questionable decision-making thrown in.
