point taken... it is all opinion. but i don't see any non-homerish attitude in Rose either. he has the same style of reporting, just less sensational or exciting. i wouldn't say mandich yelled and screamed, he just had a great delivery, kept you glued to the seat.... Rose is boring, although fair.MikeO said:A grown man yelling and screaming into a mic is sad to listen too, Im sorry. He wasn't a professional. He was a homer to the 10th degree. He gave little insight and it took a 4-12 season and god knows how many years before he even voiced a little "negativity" or "honesty" about the team.
I know a lot of people love Mandich, I won't try and change anyones mind. But he was a sub-par broadcaster. That is a fact.
If you or others like to listen to someone yelling and screaming like a moron, hey thats you. Me, I like someone more like a Joe Rose who gives insight and shares his knowledge without all of the "WWE style" antics of hype and drama.

But Jimmy Cefalo.......no sir.
He's just so HAPPY and GLEEFUL when he calls the game. Like he's telling a bedtime story. And when something happens (like that punt return), his tone of voice starts rising up like he's at the top of a rollercoaster. Weeeeeee!!
Terrible decision by the Dolphins.
A home color guy is SUPPOSED to be a major homer. That's what makes it fun to listen to your own team's radio broadcasts.MikeO said:A grown man yelling and screaming into a mic is sad to listen too, Im sorry. He wasn't a professional. Ozzy said:He still said very little against the organization, and hardly ever during a broadcast. Otherwise he would be fired. You don't work for an organization and talk bad about them. You have to be a homer because thats what your paid to do.
Mandich was great, and offered plenty of insight. It was not always yelling and screaming. That happened on big plays.
MikeO said:I disagree. You can be a broadcaster for a team and still be critical when necessary. Listen to the Red Sox broadcasters, my god! They kill the team even when they are winning and in first place. That is the other extreme! Good broadcasters can do their job without being blind homers all the time.
And there is a difference between talking bad and being honest.
possibly true, but as a fan i don't want to listen to that. i thought mandich was a perfect blend, and exciting.MikeO said:I disagree. Ozzy said:There was a broadcaster that lost his job last year for making remarks against the franchise. Chicago B-Ball maybe>?
I know it not just me, but I dont want to hear derogatory remarks when the team is playing. Tell me afterwards. It totally takes any fun out of it, especially if my teams already getting their butts whooped.
