Cubs guy. Didn't lose his job, he wasn't let on the team plane on a trip home. Bunch of overpaid athletes whinning to be honest.

I would rather listen to an honest broadcast. If someone or something stinks, say it. Dont' sugar coat it and try and make things better than they are just because "we are the home team announce crew". Please. To each their own I guess.

I'm sure your in the minority on this one. You should be honest, as you put it, afterwards, not during a game. They don't have to sugar coat it either. Just call the play, move to the next.

That's what they are, the home team announce crew, and going against the grain of the people who pay them will surely get them fired before too long.

I said I was in the minority in the very first resposne I put up. I also said I wasn't trying to change anyones mind.

I disagree. You can be a broadcaster for a team and still be critical when necessary. Listen to the Red Sox broadcasters, my god! They kill the team even when they are winning and in first place. That is the other extreme! Good broadcasters can do their job without being blind homers all the time.

And there is a difference between talking bad and being honest.

we have a short memory...same thing happened to mandich last year (if i am correct it was a game or 2 before wanny's forced retirement) he was told he wasn't welcome on team bus. made for an interesting call in period that monday during his and hanks show.
