lol at the messed up grammar on the 3'rd word of the title... I just woke up so give me a break on that

The first thing I wanna say is Ronnie is an elite back when healthy... The numbers prove it, hes literally top 5-7 in the league. His ability to barely ever fumble as a running back is amazing. (I think the fumble last week was from already being hurt)

Also his receiving skills, mix of strength and elusiveness, and nose for the endzone make him elite... Glad to have him on our team...

I said he was injury prone like a month ago and got bashed for it.. I think I got 3 negative reps just for saying it.. yet if you look at the stats,

R.Brown will have had the oppurtunity to play 80 games after this season. He will miss 20 of them. 1/4 of every season average

just to compare someone like M.Barber from Dallas who many analysts and etc consider to be an injury prone type of back, has missed 4 games out of 72 possible.

I think the main reason R.Brown doesn't get as much media attention as he deserves is simply because he is so injury prone that he doesn't end up putting up the numbers he should be. Most elite backs in the league have streaks of consectutive games going, Ronnie Brown has only played one 16 game season in his 5 year career.

How does having your foot rolled during a tackle or getting a knee twisted during a tackle have anything to do with being injury prone? Both cases were just freak accidents.

Yep every other player can handle having their knees taken out and players awkwardly falling on their ankles. Ronnie just has weak joints and ligaments. Any running back would have the same injuries if they took the hits Ronnie did. He is not injury prone. A more accurate statement would say he is oft injured.

Lol at the first 2 responses... So on the interception play 2 years ago when he was taken out by the grass wasn't Ronnie's fault?

When he pulled up on the run and hurt his hamstring against Carolina his rookie season it wasn't his fault? Again, grass caused the injury..

Not to mention he pulled up on another run just last game and he also has hurt his ankle on his own before...

You guys must be joking.. most elite running backs do not hurt themselves this often.

This is the NFL. Injuries happen. Deal with it.

Lol, you don't think I know that????

All I was saying is there are some players who are injury prone, and some who aren't. Many players get streaks of 60-70 games going, others hurt themselves every year.

And yes people can have stronger bones and ligaments than others.. that's just basic biology. Even if Ronnie Brown had the most muscle in the league, his tendons/ligaments etc could be on the weak side...

I really don't get some of the replies on here.

Good. I am glad you got bashed and negative repped. "If you look at the stats", they won't tell you that the majority of Ronnie's injuries are freak occurrences to different parts of his body!

So you are telling me in '05 it was his fault he hit his hand on a Lion's helmet on Thanksgiving? He missed only 3 games, and came back with back-to-back 100 yard games! He still broke 1,000 yards in 13 games!

Or is it his attempt at making a tackle after a freak interception in '07? He had no business even trying to defend that stupid ****ing pick from that douchebag Cleo Lemon! Lemon ruined us, there. Not Ronnie. This time is was his knee, not his hand. He was on pace to rush over 2,200 yards!!!

If you ask me, this past injury wasn't his fault, either. And again, to a third different part of his body! It isn't like he is injuring the same area over and over. And none of these injuries are his fault. And again, he was on pace to go over a 1,000 yards!

From every injury so far he has rebounded with a 1,000 yard season!

All I can say is THANK JESUS H. CHRIST you aren't in the front office!

**close, 84 yards shy in '08, but carries were split with RW due to the birth of the WC**

what do you want us to say? we know he missed time in 4 out of 5 seasons. he's valuable when he's on the field. it's a business decision. if you have a good back-up, like we do, and don't have to break the bank for Ronnie, which can be argued, it's worth it keeping him around IMO.

I thought he got hit on the ACL, but I can't find any video so I will take your word for it. He didn't injure his ACL again so I don't think that shows a bad knee. He doesn't have any chronic issues like Justin Smiley or like Bowens and Gardner had when they were here. I would consider someone injury prone if they were always out with small injuries not if they suffered a couple of catastrophic injuries.

i consider injury prone someone who cant get on the field... they keep aggravating things, injuries lifting weights, etc etc...

when you are talking about Running Backs who are taking a pounding day in and day out, your going to have injuries, someone can hit you wrong, someone can land on you awkward... **** happens...

Tom Brady got his knee busted last year by a low hit... if he took another low hit to the other knee and missed another year does that make him injury prone? no, it would just be **** luck...

guys roll up on offensive linemen's legs the wrong way and they could be out for a year, it could happen 3 times to the same guy, and never to another... doesn't make that one guy it happened to 3 times injury prone... just the way the cookie crumbles

His hamstring has been a lingering problem and has caused him to pull up on a few runs over the years... And also miss a game or 2 and see limited action in ohters. I can find the tapes if you want

his hamstring never caused him to miss games...

lets go over it, 2005 rookie year... takes a bad hit low against the Jets, misses a game and is limited the rest with a bum knee...

2006, hits his hand on a Lions helmet, breaks the hand, misses 3 games

2007, tears his ACL

2009 gets his ankle rolled ala Ginn in championship game, Lisfrank will miss season

those are the games hes missed in his career

Here's what I'd say about Ronnie:

1. He's our most important player
2. He's a team player who gives his best every effort
3. He's our best player
4. Personality and Attitude-wise, he reflects well as a face of The Franchise
5. He's our most impactful player
6. He will be sorely missed
7. To his credit, despite past injuries, he plays balls-to-the-wall on every snap
8. Did I say he's our best, most impactful, important and valuable player?

Not much more to say than THAT IMO.

I have to agree somewhat.........
He always seems to get injured.....whether its incidental or whatever. I think we will hold onto him though because he is intelligent and doesn't cause trouble in the locker room. I don't think we will franchise him though.....not sure he is worth that franchise tag (avg of five top best RB's in the league for pay for RB franchise tag if i am correct). So he may get a chance to test free agency, much like Crowder did.
