Disclosure: I just want to say this is strictly opinion, I have no proof beyond circumstantial.

Joe's going. I've been a diehard dolphin fan since 1970 and have supported each and every HC they've hired during this time. Soprano and especially Philbin, I steadfastly defended them even when it was apparent they didn't deserve it. Well it was plain to me a change had to be made and I'm glad the deed was done.

But looking back at the past four weeks in reading a lot of the information that came to light in the past few days I strongly believe we experienced a de facto coup de taut. I really hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Let's look at some of the evidence. From day one the entire defense look like they never played the game before. One sack by a nonstarter. Cornerbacks constantly giving up 7 yards before making any contact. Almost nobody capable of completing an initial tackle. Two roughing the punter calls in three games, which conveniently Scoring drives together. Circumstantial? Yes most definitely, but quite hard to ignore. Hernandez is looking at life in prison for about the same case.

Now, if some you think this is fine, that the ends justify the means, let me argue against that. Even if it was only a few key players that decided to do this, those players for the rest of their careers will be surrounded by a "taint" that will never be washed off. It's called the karma wheel. If you think this team has been cursed before you ain't seen nothing yet.

And don't kid yourself. This team has been cursed. Either from building a stadium on some ancient Indian burial ground, some scumbag billionaire curse, or the Roby family from having this team yanked from them over an inheritance loophole. This team has been cursed. From an ill advised "crack whore" constantly being pounded by butt hurt washed up players in the rest of the social media.

Believe me as dolphin fans we paid our dues. I won't even go into New England's miraculously found good fortune, after not committing to a move to Hartford and staying in the NFL's fourth largest market.

In closing to reemphasize my major point, it's all a matter of integrity. Shula teams had it. It's awful hard to win without it (not counting New England). If the players really did quit with the idea of getting their way those that were involved can never have integrity again. If I am right I hope the front office knows what happened and works at quietly removing those involved. I don't care how good they are.

Reports are already surfacing that it seems our quarterback saw this and let his own displeasure be known with the unit. I see no reason for him to have taken a stance if this is just smoke and mirrors.

The Defense dropping off the face of the earth started last year, not this one. Players were already beyond fed up with Coyle and Philbin.

I would agree, except what I witnessed during the preseason while the number one unit was out there. I just find it hard to believe that the only problem with this defense was the two gap

Philbin was in totally over his head. The players and coaches could not work with him any longer.
I am not into the conspiracy theories, I am just glad he is gone.
His personality and coaching style (if gaped mouth bewilderment) lend itself to character acting, not football coaching.
Karma Shmarma. Bring it on. I want tough nosed football. Enough with the mamby pamby nonsense.
As for the team quitting, it was disgraceful, and RT is paying a price for doing the right thing. I agree that the ring leaders(IMHO only a few) should be sent packing.
The team needs to have a meeting, bury the hatchet, and the coach needs to make it clear that he will not tolerate any divisiveness, or they will sit or be fired.
That is something Joe could never muster the courage to do. He created the monster. Someone like Campbell, will kill the beast.

Pre-season there is no scheming. As soon as the bullets went live and Coyle was getting outclassed again, I'm pretty sure players just got fed up with it.

They got rocked at Skins. Most of the roster experienced that kinda rocking last year.
They couldnt score at Skins. Most if the players went thru that last year.
They put in effort to correct issues against Jax but fell short.
Wheels fell off v Bills. Tape dont lie. Most expensive players suck.
This was a desperation coup by the FO to convince Ross that the roster is fine. They have 12 weeks, they are on the clock.

The corporate line is, Players are the best ever, Philbin didnt motivate, Dan will motivate, and we can win.
In other words, Mike T sold Ross on magic potion. We are all suckers for fables, screw reality, and the ultimate salesman just used a funny post presser to make money.
Mike T = Don Draper

Be real interested to see what players play under DC. Looking at Parker, Ajayi (when he comes off IR), Phillips, and the young MLB.

I wholeheartedly agree that the roster decisions were a disaster, leaving this offense of line without any was a foolish gamble at best. Losing Sim's and Albert has been a disaster.

my point being there may be a price for getting what we all wanted. I'm just drawing on the history of this team over the last 20 years. It hasn't been good

And if some players did quit, what's stopping them from doing it again as soon as things don't go their way? Listen I'm hoping for the best with Campbell just as I have with every head coach before him. I'm just thinking there is a reason why this vine has been so unhealthy over the years.

First 2 years: bullygate and still no offensive line
Last 2 years: Philbin loses the defense

I would be more worried about lack of quality players than another coup.

This coaching staff struggled to find answers at the end of 13, and 14, and now this year bottom fell out again.
It's a matter of having better players and also coaches with answers even if it simply means doing nothing. There has to be a coach who will not allow those kinds of poor efforts to creep in after competitive losses.

Suh said something in the offseason to the effect that being run on is emasculating (not his words), whereas I believe we were more worried about stopping the pass vs bad QBs philosophically. The worry is DTs in general won't buy into this philosophy if its not producing victories (makes them look weak) and my theory is Suh never even gave it a shot, he just said thats a stupid philosophy and thats that.

I bet you anything that Coyle will be fired and we're going to become a "force their QB to beat us by stopping the run" team. Suh will play better. Vernon might play better. The problem is the rest of the D is pretty craptacular, especially if Grimes is out for a while (and I won't be surprised if he milks that injury saving himself for his new team).

What happened with this? Last thing Ive heard about THill was a fishy story that he was calling out Practice squad players, is this a new story?

Same story. Not sure if it is true, but if there is some smoke there is usually fire. It might explain the craptastic game RT had. He was misfiring all day. Hopefully the team will meet, everyone speak their mind, and move on to Tennessee game planning
