Thats the new question. Does he try to beat Trent Green for the job and earn his respect back, or does he demand for a trade immediately? I heard he said Trent would not get the job easily, but I believe he later took that back. I guess we will now see what Daunte is really made of.

Daunte if you want to play with the big dogs dont piss like a puppy

hahaha just kidding but seriously what do you all think?

Oh he backed off that peaches and cream crap real fast. Tough guy is gone. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TOUGH GUY THAT TOLD TRENT GREEN 'Im the QB around here till someone tells me different." Where did he go? Where did the guy go talking about "Anyone who comes here shouldnt think its all peaches and cream" in regards to starting at QB? Where is that guy now? Lets see what he does. Bring it Daunte.

Does he even get the chance?

I think Daunte knows he would lose that competition.

Haven't you seen any of Cam's press conferences?

He has spoken at length about wanting a QB that reads defense QUICKLY and gets rid of the ball QUICKLY. Daunte's forte WAS his ability to make plays when the play that was called breaks down.

Besides he isn't a supporting type QB. Green was the guy who lost his job to Kurt Warner because of his ACL but he stayed around and supported Kurt every step of the way. Daunte just isn't that type of guy, just read his press releases...

Is Dave Bumstedt still running this team? Give a 5th round pick to a 37 year old QB comming back from a head injury. They better keep Culpepper around because if Green gets hurt...season over!

i think Daunte can try to earn his spot on the team but i am glad we got trent because Daunte is rushing his knee agian and he will probly get hurt agian

We're not paying over $10M for two QBs. Daunte will be traded or released before the weekend.

And how do you know this?

The fact of the matter is, Trent Green didn't play better than Daunte last year, and he was playing in a system that was very similar to ours. But yet every Trent Green homer thinks that he is automatically going to be better than Daunte.

There is going to be a QB competition between Green and Culpepper, IMO.

I agree. I don't see Daunte sticking around, and it should be a quick move. I'd love to see Cam keep him and have an actual QB competition, but I would be shocked if that happens.

I hope Daunte lands a starting spot somewhere. It will be very interesting to look at how he does compared to Green this season.

In a way I hope that there isn't a QB competition between the two, the sooner Green starts the sooner Beck will be playing.

I would like to see C-pep get a chance, but my gut tells me he may be riding out of Miami after he appears in the upcoming Mini camp, if he appears in the mini camp that is.

If Daunte shows he is eager to compete for the starting job rather than be traded, i really hope he will be given atleast SOME chance of showing what he is made of this year. I find it hard to believe he wouldbe released immediately or traded if he stuck to his peaches and cream garbage...

This should be a no brainer. If Pep starts rehabing in a shopping mall somewhere near another team you will know he wants to be traded. Thats what he did to us. :D
