There are good points and bad points of allowing the players to own the offense. It seems the QB gets to veto play packages and featuring players. My assumption is that Chad removed focus from Ginn after the that pathetic effot in the Jets game on the interception. Ginn paid for that decision for a number of games. I do not blame Chad one bit.

This is in the past, but I blame Chad for that last play against the Jets, it was a terrible throw. Not only was it late but it was low and it was to a corner having a career day. What did he expect?

Good article though

I agree with nosleep...... That was a 2 down situation and Chad knows better..... He should have thrown that ball out of bonce.... and try another play on 4th...

past is the past, Both Ginn and Penny could have done something different to keep the hope of winning the game alive.

Penny should not have thrown that ball, and Ginn should have pushed himself to fight the ball away from the defender. either way, the past is behind us and I'm looking forward to the Defenseless Broncs and a career day for Ginn Penny Ricky and ROnnie and every other Dolphin on Offense

U HAVE GOT 2 BE KIDDING ME. U DONT BAME CHAD FOR THAT 1 LOL. I BLAME CHAD 100% .HOW DO U THROW A JUMP BALL 2 A 170 POUND SPEED WR IN THE ENDZON ON THE FINAL PLAY AND THAN N0T THROW HIM 1 DEEP BALL THE WHOLE GAME. THAT MY FRIENDS IS 100 % CHADS FAULT. A QB IS SURPOSED 2 USE THE WR STRENGTH 2 THERE ADVANTAGE AND THATS NOT WHAT PENNY DID IN THAT JETS GAME.

I agree with ya, but cut the caps out. That's annoying.

If Pennington "gave up" on Ginn because of a pass he had no shot at catching, well then Chad has us all fooled for thinking he was smart.

Which he is and that play had no bearing on any future plays.

Between Ginn and Pennington....it's Pennington fault Ginn didn't get the ball.

That said, its irrelevant because wherever Chad seems to go with the ball it brings good things to our team. Thats all that matters.

Bottom line.... TG hasn't put in the time... overtime that is... to gain CP's confidence... couple that with TG's erratic route running and field awareness.... along with his propensity to not lay his body on the line when it counts... a 10 year pro like CP fails to show the love....

It's not fatal.... but honestly... if TG wants the ball there's only one way to get from CP.... EARN IT... Monday Wednesday Thursday and Friday... and then prove it on Sunday!

Ok...I'm not the smartest pencil in the box, but, my reading comprehension testing both on the ASVAB and SAT was nearly 100%.

That said, where does it say Chad threw out or vetoed plays involving Ginn as a featured WR? I see no entry saying that.

let me get this straight if a qb can veto a play then Marino should have vetoed Oronde Gadsden play after he quit on a rout and Marino was picked off against the bills in Marino's last year .

I'm not a reading comprehension expert either, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. However, I don't see the part about vetoing plays involving Ginn either.

In any case, that was a good article - I really like the way this team is progressing.

You must have missed the Baltimore game.

Tony Sparano would also disagree with everything you said. Ginn's put in the time and has been running great routes for a couple of games now.

Justin Smiley would also laugh at you if you tried to tell him Ginn doesn't work hard in practice. After the Bills game Justin wasn't the least bit surprised Ginn couldn't be stopped because "no one can cover him in practice either".

Ya maybe he just needs to stay later and what? Play madden with Pennington?

"We don’t just give them carte blanche but we want to hear explanations, we want to know why, just like when we give it to them, they want to know why. There’s a lot of give and take there.”

I think Henning's comments were in regards to the editing of specific "plays" from the gameplan, not players.

As for anything deep, its probably safe to assume, those play's have been governed since week 1 by Chad's arm, and his confidence with it.

Not to derail the topic, but I found Hennings interview very insightful, and in revealing contrast to Sparano's guarded thoughts, who despite an entertaining persona, has learned to "zip it" behind the podium.
When asked his opinion,
on designing game plans around an opponent's potential injuries, Sparono was artful in his response, evasively dismissing the practice, and cited the potential for any starter to suddenly show up healthy at game time (such as Ferguson's return to the lineup last Sunday), would leave the plan flawed, toward a suddenly nonexistent weakness.

When Henning was asked the question, he came out with a classic tidbit of info, candidly stating that a report is written and delivered to his desk, on the upcoming opponent every week, listing every injury, potential injury, and even notes on what what the city is talking about, basically conceding the fact that every detail is scrutinized, weighed, considered, and potentially game planned around.

I may be all by myself on this one but I am GLAD that we got Ginn and think he's going to be an offensive force for us for many years to come. People have no patience anymore but receiver generally take three years to fully develop. They're not generally thrust into the no.1 receiver position right away. A perfect example is Reggie Wayne. I think he's in the top five in the league right now but he was brought along under Marvin Harrison until he was ready. Damn that Polian he's good.

I think it's in regards to both plays and players or more specifically, play packages.
We put the plays in and we send them the game plan on Tuesday night and if he comes in and he doesn’t like something, we throw it out. There’s no need, we’ve got enough. There’s a lot of offense that we deal with and if he’s not comfortable with it, either by play, design or player, then we shift it around or get rid of it.

Ginn said in an interview earlier this week that there are some packages that he is not in. It might have nothing to do with Pennington but I think after Ginn's game on Sunday, he should be used in a few more packages.

The only thing I liked about Pornstache's final season was his philosophy to get the Studs the ball. It seems we're doing that more as the season goes on, props to Henning.
