Great Victory For Sure but the stupid mistakes scare me. We gave up too much today. The game shouldnt have been this close. Im sure Saban will work on this. Of course the good thing is the scoreboard but still these things can really come back and kill you somtimes. Just look at the Raiders.

The penalties were not that bad. Almost all were due to effort and trying to make a play. Not a lot of false starts, offsides, or delay of games. I beleive some of the personal foul penalties were due to the gameplan.

Just overly aggresive and physical. Imo not a major problem.

The play that pissed me off most was the 3rd down and long when JT made a sack....BUT NOOOOO we got an unsportsmanlike penalty on Sam Madison. All day long we made dumb penalties...if we cut down on these we win easily instead of just squeaking it out.

We need to seriusly fix this mess (penalties) if we woulda lost..that wouldve been the biggest reason next to Steve Smith!

We could always hook up electrodes to the offensive line so that every time they get a false start we give them a nice little jolt. That should scare them into staying put!

We must be the most penalised team in the league!... we have to stop it. Taylors offside penalty made me LOSE IT and bust VEIN in my FOREHEAD!

Penalties are getting out of control... we could closed out the game a lot earlier in the 4th but the penalties let the panthers back in the game.

It's a new system guys, and a new coach. I expect alot of the penalties, although there is no excuse for them. One positive sign was the relative lack of offensive penalties as compared to the last two games. I think the offensive line is beginning to settle in and the coaching in that area is much better. The defensive penalties were all about agressive play. I think Saban has instilled a lot of fire there, but they need to know when to rein it in. The roughing the passer and the late throw out of bounds were very uncalled for though. Not a good thing to see from veterans. (I think Madison was hit for the unnecessary roughness)

13 for 138, sorry but that's bad.

If we had a young defense and a crappy coach, I would understand the penalties. But we have the OLDEST and most experienced defense in the league, and one of the best coaching staffs in the league, so this just doesn't make sense. Taylor has made a ton of big plays, granted, but I can't remember the last time he's had this many penalties in a 3-game span. And this "flag-syndrome" isn't just a one-time deal. It's now a pattern. It HAS to be corrected, or it will eventually catch up with us and cost us games.

Other than that, I loved the OL play (although was Carey injured? Why was Stockpile in there so much?) And what can you say about Ronnie, Randy, Chris, Gus and Zack!! Unbelievable! But I think Reggie Howard is about to enter the "Jerry Wilson" league if he doesn't shape up. I really hope Poole can get back sometime this season. But great great win!!

I think we should stop getting them.

But seriously penalties are going to happen but I think at what ever level you play at college, NFL, Pee Wee, you just have to focus on it in meetings and practice if you do that you will see the number of penalties come down. Plus FOCUS...we need to preach focus and TEAM first play if we do that we don't have the stupid personal fouls and face masks...

Apparently after Tebucky Jones facemasked Delhomme when he should have had an easy sack Saban threw his headset so hard to the ground he cracked it in half.
