[FONT="] to break down with some interesting numbers. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• By now, most Dolphins fans know that Ajayi joined O.J. Simpson, Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams as the only backs in NFL history with consecutive 200-yard games. Simpson did it twice, in 1973 and 1976; Campbell did it in 1980; and Williams did it for the Dolphins in December 2002 against the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• Of the five times the feat has been accomplished, only twice has it been done with the runner having fewer than 30 carries in both games: Simpson in 1976 and Ajayi, who had 25 attempts against Pittsburgh and 28 against Buffalo. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• Ajayi is the only one of the four with back-to-back 200-yard rushing performances who was not a first-round pick. He was a fifth-round pick out of Boise State in the 2015 NFL draft. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• The Dolphins now have five 200-yard rushing performances in the regular season, and three of them have come against Buffalo. Ajayi joined Williams and Reggie Bush in 2011 to accomplish the feat against the Bills. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• Ajayi became the first running back in the NFL with two 200-yard games in the same season since 2012 when both Jamaal Charles of the Chiefs and Adrian Peterson of the Vikings did it. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• Ajayi’s 214 rushing yards against Buffalo came on 28 carries, topping his career high of 25 set against Pittsburgh. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• Ajayi had nine runs of 10 yards or more against Buffalo, two more than he had against Pittsburgh. It’s the highest total in the NFL this season and tied for third-highest over the past 20 years, only one behind the totals recorded by Priest Holmes of the Chiefs against Oakland in 2001 and LaDainian Tomlinson of the Chargers also against Oakland two years later. [FONT="]• Remember that the Dolphins had 10 runs of 10 yards or longer in their first five games before Ajayi produced 16 the past two weeks. [/FONT]
[FONT="]• After setting an NFL season high with 10 rushing first downs against Pittsburgh, Ajayi topped that number against Buffalo with 11. The Dolphins finished with 15 as a team, topping their season high of 12 against Pittsburgh. [/FONT]
