NT Dorsey is on the block

i think if we could get Glenn Dorsey for anything less the a 1st or 2nd i say make the more

Dorsey did not play nose in college.....LSU ran a 4-3
Maybe he is not transitioning so well. why in the heck would a team be ready, this early, to give up on a 1st round pick? Something is up with this.

My understanding was he doesn't project to be an effective 3-4 NT, so you have to think about him at DE. We're set at DE with plenty of youth and a great rotation.

I thought Glen Dorsey was playing d-end in the 3-4? Doesn't seem like he has the size to play nose tackle imo

Anyways why would Kansas City trade him away if he could play the NT spot well? It's pretty much the most important position (and one of the hardest to find) in a 3-4 defense.

its just says they are not high on him, who knows. He is a big body though. Great athlete.

is it me or is everyone on KC on the trading block lol, now we have heard Dorsey, Bowe, and D.Johnson rumors

I was really interested in Dorsey last year. If they have him playing Nose it's probably not a good position for him. He is a little small for that 6'1" 295. Soliai for instance is listed at 6'4" 355 and Ferguson is 6'3" 310. I think Dorsey is better suited to an interior lineman spot on a 4-3 defense rather than a 3-4.

The guy I would still be interested in is Dwayne Bowe.

If he's not a nose tackle which is a glaring need, and taking into consideration his college health issues, anticipating at least the demand for a 2nd rounder and probably more, I'd be inclined to pass on this one. Would rather pursue someone like Boldin or Bowe if we're gonna part with a high pick.

He is way too short to be a DE in a 3-4 defense. You need the rangy lengthy bodies at DE like the 6'4 Merling, 6'7 McDaniel, and the 6'6 Langford (and between 290 to 310 lbs). I would never want someone shorter than 6'3 for a 3-4 DE.. Starks is the bottom limit.

And you need someone bigger than 6'1 295 at NT.

Dorsey is a 4-3 DT who's a one-gap over center/guards, and nothing more. He can't play up close to the tall Offensive Tackles who have long arms and reach as a 3-4 DE. And he is not adequate as a two-gap 3-4 NT.

That's why KC wants to trade him. And why Miami won't trade for him.

Say no to Dorsey. It wouold be a disaster in this system. He is a pass rushing NT, and we need a solid run stuffing NT.

I would much rather trade for LB Derrick Johnson.
