Why am I excited by this signing of a practice squad player lol but I am. I feel better about this guy than the one we drafted in the 4th last year lol.

he was pretty tight at florida but was a DE, i dont know how he'll be a NT for us.. but whatever torbio stunk and this guy has a chance

sizewise I guess he could be a NT. The amazing thing was he was the top ranked FB in the nation as a recruit a top 50 overall recruit with a 1000 yards rushing and he is now a DL.

and the year before that... Toledo
and the year before that... Daniels

Here's my take on Cohen being a UF fan:

Coming out of HS, Cohen was a highly sought of FB. He also played NT and said that he could play either position in college. Florida already had Billy Lattsko at FB, so Cohen made the switch to NT.

Of all the DL on that NC team, Cohen was probably the most under stated of them. He was solid and held up well at the point of attack, but was far from spectacular. But I don't hold that against him. You had Ray McDonald, Jarvis Moss, Derrick Harvey, and Steven Harris, so unless you did something extraordinary you might get lost in the shuffle.

Cohen was listed as a backup, but he played just about as much as anyone on the DL. I think Cohen's biggest strength is his ability to hold his ground in the trenches. I haven't really watched too many SF games, so I don't know how he did his first year in the Pros. Cohen contributions were directly related to the beat down that UF put on OSU. They could not move him out of the middle. When he gets his mitts on you, he will make the tackle. I have an idea that if he can make the transition to a 3-4, he might be ideal for the NT position. But I do have a little bit of bias behind that statement.

God with the exception of Will Poole who was never the same after the injury I have not been real excited by our fourth round picks lately. Overall round 4 has not been very kind to us. We have selected more busts in that round that any team i can think of.

Poole was the last pick that I agreed with.
lThis year I would have much rather drafted Anthony Collins OT or Dwight Lowery CB.

2007-Solai- was hoping for Beekman G-C but would have loved Bennet CB

2006-toledo, my least favorite dolphin in a while just way too much buildup for a guy that never played in a regular season game, I would definately have preferred Johnathon Scott at the time but he really did not do much and is also out of football after some injuries. I was still right about Scott being a better NFL player than Toledo since he did start some games. Brandon Marshall would have been the best pick although I admit i was not high on him. Dewan landry would have been a great pick also. This draft always irks me because there were great safety prospects available after the first round and we took one 16th overall.

2005-Travis Danials, really wanted Kyle Orton since we needed a Qb. he is actually became a solid qb and would have been a solid draft pick .

2004-loved the Will Poole pick although I also loved nathan vasher. In retrospect Vasher would have been a better pick. The Poole pick was sweet because he was 1st round prospect and we stupidy gave away a pick to move up one spot as we were hosed by the vikings.

2002- Randy McMichael our last successful 4th round pick. Was already pissed that we passed on chris hope for Mckinney's scrubby azz, did not really want McMichael, would have liked Najeh Davenport in spite of his bathroom problem. mcmichael turned out nice though.

Go back and look at our history in the fourth round and I swear no team has drafted so many players that could not even make the team for us or anybody else.

hey even our biggest draft bust shawn murphy came out of the 4th round.. we gotta turn that around.. there is still alot of good players in that round... to end that streak we just need to grab the best player available..

but our 6th rounders are dope, donald thomas... yeremiah bell...
hope we continue that streak :)
