With each passing day, the sights and sounds surrounding Rex Ryan lead you to believe he knows his fate — even if nothing is official yet.

For a coach who brought so much personality and identity to Woody Johnson’s franchise when he was hired, and had astonishing early success with the two AFC Championship Game appearances his first two years, this has become sad to watch.

But Ryan’s fate with his team 2-9 and eliminated from the playoffs before Thanksgiving is something he had an idea was coming before the first game was played this season.

Sources told The Post that, during the offseason, Ryan bumped into scouts and other coaches from around the league who told him Jets general manager John Idzik had been telling people his plan all along was to replace Ryan after the season and bring in his own head coach.

“Did he think that wasn’t going to get back to me?” an angered Ryan told one confidant.

What a ****show. Thankfully we have nothing to fear as long as a dingbat like Idzik is in charge. He might as well bring back Rich Kotite and complete the circle.

But wait. There's more.

Halfway through a story by the New York Daily News’ Manish Mehta calling for the ouster of paranoid, in-over-his-head general manager John Idzik, there is a bombshell: The New York Jets failed to let head coach Rex Ryan speak on details about visiting his ailing 83-year-old father during the Jets’ bye week.

Wait, what?

Yes, Mehta asked Ryan about the trip to visit cancer-stricken Buddy Ryan, one of the most respected defensive coaches in NFL history, and a Jets PR official intervened. The Daily News, and Mehta specifically, has been rough on the Jets this season and in the past — namely about Idzik, whose bumbling of the team’s roster has left the talent pool bare.

Mehta writes:

Asked who made the decision to prevent a willing Ryan from sharing stories about his father, the media relations official said, “I don’t have to tell you.”

Ryan has always given his players the freedom to speak their minds, but the organization has muzzled the coach with a change on the horizon. He will be the fall guy on Black Monday.

Ouch. That second article is a stinger.

Oh well. **** you Rex. Take a hike you fat classless POS.

It will be interesting to see if Idzik gets **** canned too. That would be the icing on the cake. He runs how mouth at the beginning on the season about canning Rex and then ends out out the door right along with him. Let's not forget that the fan base is calling for Idzik's head and not Rex's.

I can only imagine how far they're going to have to scrape down in the barrel to find some willing to be the head coach of that clown car. They might actually have to break through the bottom of the barrel and start scraping the dirt.

Is Jerry Glanville still alive? That's what we're talking about here.

Nothing more than a gut feeling, but calling it now:

Jim Mora Jr.

Oh, and while speaking of coaches Idzik would hire, fun fact:

Tannenbaum represents Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who will be a hot head-coaching candidate. Wouldn't it be something if Idzik tries to hire Quinn and has to negotiate with Tannenbaum? That would be priceless.

This could get hilarious if Woody balks.

Wouldn't blame Rex if he tried to take Idzik out the door with him. After what we saw in Detroit last week vs Buffalo I can't help but wonder if the Jets and Rex have quit.

I think Rex would love to try to go out with a couple of wins here. But that would be funny.
