Now that the dust of acquiring a franchise QB is starting to settle the team can focus on other areas of need like the o-line. We have a gapping hole at the c/rg position or which ever of the two Hadnot is not playing. Most of the FA o-linemen that were available have been scooped up already.
Does the team go o-line in the thrid round of the draft? I don't think they can afford the higher priced FA's still out there that may be why they lost out on Mawae.

I think they will surely go defense in round one. What are your thoughts on how they will address the hole on the o-line?

If we could get Terrell Owens in free agency then we could trade Marty Booker to cleveland for Jeff Faine. Then we could sign Tom Ashworth then we would have a great o-line.

LT-L.J. Shelton
LG-Jeno James
C-Jeff Faine
RG-Vernon Carey
RT-Tom Ashworth

QB-Daunte Culpepper
RB-Ronnie Brown
WR-Chris Chambers
WR-Terrell Owens
TE-Randy McMichael

That woud be one of the best offenses in the NFL.:dolphins:

Saban should really focus in on the Center/Guard position right now. As it stands we have no Center unless you count Hadnot, even then you would have to replace him at the RG position, which we don't have anyone to fill that void and if you move Carey to Guard then we need a RT. Point being that and our DB should be our next priority.

Well, Saban will get one maybe two o-line free agents and one in the draft. We sure need to protect our franchise QB.
The draft will probably be mainly defense though!!!:dolphins:

Well, except for the fact that you traded T.O. to the Browns and why wouldn't the Browns just sign him if they wanted T.O.?

Yeah, we have to pick-up/draft another O-lineman.
I'm not sure I would be comfortable with a rookie center,
(assuming Hadnot doesn't take that position fultime).
Our draft picks are : 1-3-4-7-7-7.

I meant Booker. Sorry:D

We do have Houck and were we not grooming Smith for centre before he got hurt last year?

Seriously tho, with Culpepper at his best our Oline will automatically be better just because he can scramble.

i said this already in another thread smith was beating out mckinney for center be4 he was hurt

Mckinney was always getting pushed back into the QB.
Smith was a flop at LT, his feet are decent , but he is weak at the point of attack and gets pushed around. I don't know if you would want him starting
at center.
Hadnot has slower feet, but is a BULL at the point of attack.
So far hadnot is the best option.

If that's the case, i could really see Saban looking at 2 guys in this draft . . . Max Jean-Gilles and Davin Joseph. Jean-Gilles is a MONSTER with agility and quick feet. Joseph is a great all-around athlete. But if we did ship this year's 2nd rounder to Minne, i can't see us going OL in Round #1. We still need help at DB and LB.
