It's really funny that it seems Like Vernon Carey has taken over as our best lineman. He is playing more heads up football than any other lineman out there, not to tough:rolleyes: . Eventhough I hated how that Bills game went down I loved what I saw from him. That play he made when Pepper fumbled coming from the opposite side of the field and taking out the Bills defenders to recover the fumble was great. He has definately turned into a very solid pass protecter and is really developing a nice push in the run game. Right now, I beleive, he has been the biggest bright spot 2 games into the season.

Personally, I have not been impressed with V. Carey at all.....

I've tried to be fair in judgement, and give him time to come around, but he's still not really doing anything to warrant any praise at this stage. And if he's now the leader of our OL, we're in more trouble than I initially thought....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Hadnot is the proven leader memeber how pissed he was at frerotte when he through that game killing int in the end of the falcons game last year.....honestly i thing that motivated us for a great win the following week!!!

The statement "Vernon Carey has taken over as our best linemen" sums it up right there. This offensive line is just not very good. We only gave up, what 26 sacks last year? Which i guess was more of an illusion than it was reality. Because it's pretty much the same personel. I thought they would be better than this, but they really aren't doing a very good job. It's early, and i think Hudson Houck will get them playing better, but we dont have a shot unless we at least get good play from the offensive line. That's where football games are won.....

Well, Saban disagrees with you.

It s/b the Center that is the leader of the OL. I know Hadnot was the most vocal last year when he was playing RG.

Out of curiousity, Can't Jacox play Center?

What are everyone thoughts on Alabi moving to RG?

What we really need is a tough monster on the OL - someone like a Steve Hutchinson. Someone who has a nasty attitude and the physicality and skill to back it up. Some guys have skills but are too nice. Others have the nastiness but just aren't that good.

I think having a stud on the OL like Hutchinson is what would really help this line. That 's the kind of leader we need.

Well if Houck was looking for a debilitated squad of underachievers, that would pose a significant challenge to his exaulted credentials, it certainly appears he's found himself a defining group of legitimate prospects.
