Yes, it's only the 1st game, and things happen. I'm not so much worried about the loss as I am about the line. This is the line that is supposed to lead us to a title one day. It is by far our highest paid unit, and they look bad IMO.
Agreed, settled down late but still no running lanes. No differrence between Grove, Thomas and Smiley vs Satele, Nwduke and Alleman after one week. OH sorry there was one difference the pass blocking was worse but the run blocking between the tackles was about the same.
I agree, didn't we bring in another O-line coach this year too? What was supposed to be one of our strengths laid a huge egg out there. Everyone is jumping on Chad already, and he deserves part of the blame for sure, but our line was clearly overmatched today. And what the heck happened to Fasano? The first one I can almost understand, but the second there is no justification for. If he wasn't our "best" tight end he would be pounding sand tommorrow.
I guess I should never be surprised by the insanity on the boards after a loss but all this talk of Penny and how the blitz was the problem... Man I feel like I am taking crazy pills.
The OL got beat up, smacked around and owned one on one... Considering jake played very inconsistently in the preaseason and then today... WOW! We should be VERY concerned.
See, turnovers are something that can be corrected... I think we should be okay there. The o-line is by far the biggest thing to worry about coming out of this game. They were just pwned today. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, Jake Long had BY FAR his worst game as a pro today. They better get their **** together immediately.
at least pat white is fearless. he threw a great block on a guy twice his size. pennington looks either disgusted with the play calling or pat white or cruising through his last year in Miami. in any event, he's a liability more than ever now.
