Our coaches would disagree with you. In fact Coyle went on last week about how he was thrilled with Vernon's play and that it didn't show up in the "numbers" I haven't watched again to see if he did just as well against the colts though. Doesn't seem like the DL played quite as well together against a better opponent, but obviously they did well enough to win.
I don't watch the Browns often . . . but for Joe Thomas to be the consensus best LT in the game . . . The way he was holding OV throughout the game was reminiscent of how Wake gets held and it doesn't get called. He's a run stuffer by trade, but his pass rushing skills have definitely stepped up from what I have seen this season.

Vernon played really well!
He is the opposite of flash in his current role - people mix up solid and flash.
The D line played well ALL game.
They are a team that wears their opponents out - that's a large part of the reason why you see the D-line perform better in the second half.

If he stays healthy this kid will get involved in some big plays...he did so last year in very limited action. Give him some time..
He obviously hasn't put up visual stats that a site like that can see and implement into their formulas . . . . which is why although I respect PFF for what they are, I like to see for myself and know that a guy is playing good or bad. Week 1, Vernon was splendid . . . week 2, both him and Wake were in check more, but it happens. The bashing articles on him are a bit ridiculous though.

ive been impressed with Vernon so far. Give him 2-3 years and I think he'll turn out great.

Well if OV is playing so well it should show up in something tangible this week when he goes up against an ailing Sam Baker.

Guys, OV is a fine young player making his 3rd start in the NFL. As I said somewhere else on this subject he is acending. I also stick by my earlier preiction that OV will get a sack this week on Mr. Icecube!!

I was excited for Vernon myself, tried to focus on him for a good amount of our defensive snaps but that got boring quickly. Then afterwards I got to thinking that maybe he was asked to play very conservatively by the coaches, you know, to make sure Luck didn't escape the pocket. Also, both times Jordan got pressure it was very delayed, like he was asked to spy Luck.
Then today I was listening to Mays and Barnwell (good listen btw, they preview tomorrows game. Skip to the 12 minute mark ) and Mays said he noticed Wake wasn't his usual self in exploding off the line, he looked to be playing very conservative. I think that even though both DE's didn't have good stats its possible they did exactly what was asked of them which was to keep Luck in the pocket.
I expect very different orders this week, something along the lines of: GO HUNTING BOYS
