An NFL source tells Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald that coach Lane Kiffin is in favor of drafting Brady Quinn with the No. 1 overall pick.
The consensus top prospect before being outplayed by JaMarcus Russell in the Sugar Bowl and Calvin Johnson's decision to leave school early, Quinn visited with the Raiders on Tuesday. He would seem a better fit for coordinator Greg Knapp's West Coast offense than Russell. Apr. 17 - 6:01 pm et

Very possible, hard to believe what is fact and what is smokescreen a week before the draft though.

That would make the draft interesting

I'm assuming Kiffin is blowing smoke. Either way, it doesn't matter what he thinks. Uncle Al will make that decision, and Quinn is not his kind of QB, IMO.

So Al Davis would draft a guy because he's a 'Davis type of QB', even though he would fail miserably in the schemes the coaches actually present? Quinn actually makes a lot of sense here.

Nothing Alice Davis does surprises me...

I actually could see them drafting Johnson and hiring on another Dinosaur to helm the Offense....

I think its a smoke screen.

From your lips to God's ears!!!

Miami will draft OL or DL at #9, which ever is BPA.

QB is second or third round.

I disagree. for one hudson houck has done wonders with middle to 2nd day round drafts picks.

I want Brady Quinn at #9 or #6 because he has the potential to be an elite QB. Second round or third round qb's tend to be average.

raiders will draft russell or johnson quinn is a smokescreen.plus al loves johnson......he gets his way not kiffen.

Al Davis buried a Hall of Fame RB on the bench at the height of his career even though it was stupid. He does what he wants, and the coach follows.

Maybe Al's changed from his vertical passing attack fascination, who knows? But if he hasn't, Quinn is not best suited to that kind of "chuck it downfield" game.
