Damion McIntosh was the first to get the axe. I took the liberty of writing a brief obituary:
Despite being a decent player for most of the season, Damion McIntosh is most memorable for his impression of a human turnstyle against the Jets' John Abraham in week two. He repeated this impression against Tampa Bay's Simeon Rice with similar results. McIntosh struggled with good pass rushers, but did a decent all around. His ridiculous cap hit made him almost a certain cap casualty. Most recently, Damion has been reported to have beaten his wife, I'm sure that helped his chances of staying onboard.
Miami Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller was quoted as saying "who else wants some of this?" as he held the axe, his eyes fixed directly on Reggie Howard.
