Obscure Moments in Dolphins Mistory: This is Not a Greatest Moments Ever Thread

Everyone remembers the big moments in Miami histoy, both good (17-0, Marino's 1984 season, beating the Colts in the 2000 playoffs, upsetting the Pats last year etc.) and bad (62-7, losing to the Raiders in the 74 playoffs, Stoyo's missed field goal against the Chargers, the debacle of last season.)
However, I've been randomly thinking of some lesser known events in Dolphins history and I'm sure you fans know a few too. This is your chance to say remember when...? It should bring up some good and bad memories that we forgot.
Here's a few that I thought of:
Remember when Jimmy Johnson retired for about 5 hours before the 1999 season? Although probably forgotten, I believe it was a significant event in Dolphins history because I'm pretty sure that event led to Johnson hiring Wanny as his assistant, and of course the rest is history.

Another: Remember 1n 1995 when Marino threw the game winning touchdown pass against the Falcons? I think we were in a 3 game losing streak at the time and that touchdown literally saved the season.

I can think of a bunch more, but I want to hear what you guys can think of before I post again.
Oh and sorry for the irrelevent thread, but I don't really like talking much about the current Dolphins when they were losing so I like taking these trips down memory lane

I remember that game. That was classic Marino.

Remember the time we shut out the Titans 17-0 or something like that back in '99? Madison had three interceptions I think. I also believe it was the first time anybody had shut out the team since they became the Titans. We were tied with the Titans for first place in the AFC, I believe. That was Madison's best game IMO.

Remember the last minute comeback over the Broncos in 2002? Or how about the last second comeback over the Raiders in the first game after 9/11?

Dolphins defeat Broncos on the Mare 50+ field goal. Fiedler rallied the Dolphins in that Sunday night game. On the following Tuesday, the Dolphins topped some power rankings, then the season unraveled.

how 'bout the MNF game I think in 1987 when Rookie Troy Stadford lit up the Jets for 150 yards and we spanked them 45-3...damn I miss those days...or remember when Marino threw a TD pass in the closing moments against the Seahawks to win but afterwards he didn't remember it because he had a concussion earlier in the game...who can forget watching the 1985 classic against the Bears when the bears had to plead to the referees to stop the game and quiet down the noise level so they could call the plays....or remember when Marino and Jensen put cayenne pepper in their shoes one year up in Buffalo to keep their feet warmer...ahh so many random dolphins memories. Good Post.

We all remember that Marino hurt his shoulder in the final season and really never was the same the rest of the way (although it was tough in the final years anyway in JJ's tinkertoy offense). But his last healthy game (the game he hurt the shoulder in) he threw for 393 yds against the Colts. Played great (and with full arm strength for the last time).

both joey harrington and michael vick made their pro debuts against the dolphins in '01 and '02. vick almost led the falcons to a victory, and harrington was destroyed

Are you sure about Vick? I thought that game was late in the season and rather one sided thanks to a goal line stand or two.

oh right I think it was hampton...maybe it was 1986 then...oh well, it still kicked ***

the final score was 21-14. it was 4th and goal and they ran dunn up the middle, where z. thomas met him and stopped him. it probably was late in the saeson, what's that have to do with anything?

i thought atl ran the fullback up the gut at the goal line

Two season ago, when Jay Fiedler came off the bench in the fourth and led a great comeback (though it was really Ricky who played like a man posessed in that second half). That was the first time we wore the orange jerseys. I remember it really well because I had a bad cold with a high fever so I wasn't going to school the next day, instead I stayed up watching that game and it was so worth it.
Jason Taylor broke Patrick Ramsey's foot at the beginning of the game and Tim Hasselbeck picked us apart after that, probably because the defense never saw film on him. Lavar Arrington played a good game and talked a lot of trash, but when we won by one point he shut up. Great game.
